Dinner (6:00-6:30)

Explanation
1. Opening Prayer (Matt) (6:30-6:32) "God our Father, you inspired your saints to have an
abiding love for your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and for the Church He founded. Through
their intercession, continue to nourish your people from this fountain of life rising from the
heart of Jesus. Raise up new saints in our difficult times to help overcome the problems of
today. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen." (Borrowed liberally from the closing
morning prayer, Weds. Nov. 10, 2010, Magnificat Vol. 12, No. 9).
2. Saints from History who Saved the Day. (Matt) (6:32-6:45)
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:11-13. "And he gave some as apostles, others as
prophets, others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers to equip the holy ones for
the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ . . ."
Message: God has raised up saints over the past 2,000 years just when the Church
needed them the most.

St. Catherine of Siena -- the need: to return the papacy to Rome.
St. John Bosco -- the need: to educate the poor and abandoned boys of the
slums of Turin, Italy.
St. Katherine Drexel -- the need: to serve, support, and educate Native
Americans and blacks.
3. Saints for Today (Lance) (6:45-7:05)
