FUNDING
OVERVIEW
There may be funding available via the Adult Education Budget (AEB) to cover the cost of
the course (subject to eligibility) which means it could be done for FREE.
If this doesn’t apply, we can also help with access a Learner Loan. These are Government
loans that offer very favourable repayment terms, are not income dependent and are
available to the majority of people with no credit check. You can apply for up to four loans
to continue with your learning.

Our short online courses are ideal if you are looking to refresh your knowledge, upskill or
begin a new learning/career pathway (whether for personal or professional reasons). All
the work is completed at your own convenience (within agreed timeframes) and uploaded
to your personal online portal or within your course workbook and sent via the post,
allowing you to gain a qualification from wherever you are.
The courses are all accredited and nationally recognised and awarded by a reputable
organisation (NCFE and CACHE) so you can be assured they are relevant and will be
recognised by an employer.
Level 2 Certificates are completed within approximately 8 weeks. You will have unlimited
access to a dedicated Training Coordinator (TC) for ongoing support and feedback; all of
your learning materials are included in the cost* and will remain yours to keep and there
are no external examinations or classes to attend. Your work will be verified externally to
ensure quality and compliance with the awarding body standards.

In order for those with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling and empowered lives, it is vital
for those who support them to understand legislation, human rights issues, safeguarding,
duty of care, communication methods and the importance of positive risk-taking.
This qualification provides the learner with the underpinning knowledge to help those with
learning disabilities facing daily challenges overcome those challenges where possible and
with an understanding of the signs and symptoms of various conditions, provide proactive
support.
MANDATORY UNITS
The six mandatory units of this qualification are:
• Understand the context of supporting individuals with learning disabil it ies
• Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care
• Introduction to personalisation in social care
• Principles of positive risk taking for individuals with disabil it ies
• Introductory awareness of autistic spectrum conditions
• Principles of supporting individuals with a learning disabil ity to access health care.
