LEARNING OBJECTIVES : To describe five animals : cat, lion, tiger, rat,dog.
LEARNING OUTCOMES : At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to :
- Write five simple sentences to describe animals.

-Word cards ( name of animals )
- Word cards ( parts of animal’s body )
-Sentence strips
-Picture of animals
-Sound of animals ( using computer )-ICT
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE :
Pupils already learned the names and parts of animals .

KNOWING / RECOGNISING THE ANIMALS
Playing Guessing Game.Teacher plays the sound of animals using the computerTeacher asks the pupils to guess the names of the animal orally. Teacher pastes the word cards of animal on the board.Then replay the sound of another animal. Teacher chooses a pupil randomly to paste / match the picture of animal correcty to the word card on the board.
The pupils respon to the teacher by listening to the sounds of animal and guess their names.
Get the students’ interest by playing the Guessing Game
Testing the pupil’s confidence level.

( 5 minutes )
DRILLINGTeacher reads and spell the names of animals and shows a big picture of a cat. Teacher points to the part of its body and asks the pupils to name them orally.After that, teacher will label the parts of body according to the pupil’s correct answer.

Describing the animal.
Teacher will asks few questions orally to the pupils in order to describe the animalAfter that, teacher pastes the sentence strip under the picture of cat.Questions :T : What animal is this?P:

T: How many ears does it have?P:
Teacher will guide the pupils to answer these question.

Consolidating pupil’s reading and understanding of sentences given.
After all the five strips of sentences are pasted, teacher reads together with the class.
Read the sentences.
Teacher uses a few techniques :-read in chorus-read in groups ( boys and girls )-individual reading by pupils choosen by teacher,he / she will go in front of the class and read the sentences by pointing the words.

APPLICATION OF THE IDEA(15 minutes )
Writing the sentences to describe the animals.
Teacher distributes the worksheets to the pupil.The worksheets contain the writing task.Pupils are asked to do the worksheets and teacher encourage them to compare and discuss their writing task.

To show pupils’ undesrtanding of the lesson.
The workheets are designed to enable pupils to fully understand the sentence pattern for further reading in the coming lesson.
CLOSURE( 5 minutes ) Riddle
Teacher reads the riddle and pupils will guess the name of animal
