Orientation : Once upon a time there was a beautiful woman named Dayang

Sumbi. She lived with her son named Sangkuriang and a black dog.

She loves it very much. They lived in a small village.

Evaluation : One day Sangkuriang hunted in the jungle. He could not have one

because his dog barked and surprised the pig. He was very angry

the he killed the dog and took its heart.

Complication : Sangkuriang didn’t tell the truth when his mother asked him about

the dog. When she knew that Sangkuriang had killed the dog she

was angery . Dayang Sumbi threw a spoon and asked him to went

away.

Resolution : Twenty years later, Sangkuriang met Dayang Sumbi. But he didn’t

believe that she eas his mater. He wanted to marry her. Dayang

Sumbi who knew her son asked him ti make a boat in a night.

Reorientation : Sangkuriang failed. He was disappointed and kicked the boat. The

boat was down. It is knows as Tangkuban Perahu.

Orientation : “Oh Maria, it’s nice to see you outside of school,” said Ahmad

sitting down at the table. “I wanted to talk to you about something.”

Evaluation : Maria sw the sad look on Ahmad’s face and asked, “What’s wrong,

Ahmad? Tell me.”

“Do you remember the valentine card?”

“Sure, the one you said yo your boyfriend back home”

“Well, I’ve just got a letter back from him…” the girls saw a

middle aged waitress coming toward their tbale. They stopped

talking.

“What can I get you two young ladies?” she asked, smiling.

“Just coffee for me, please.”

“Yes, there some for me, please”.”

“Coming right up,” said the waitress.

“Now tell me what happened, Ahmad.” Maria said. “You got the

letter from your boy friend…”

Complication : “And, it wa just awful,” continued Ahmad. “You see, when I left

my my country, he promised to wailt until I finished school and

could get married. We loved each other so much. Our parents were

friends and wanted us to get married someday. So, what

happened?”

Mayor Compl. : “He met another girl. And they are going to get married. In the

letter he said he didn’t want to hust me. But…”

Resolution : “Oh, Ahmad, don’t cry,” said Maria symphatically.

“That’s right, don’t cry, honey. There are more plenty fish in the

sea,” said waitress, putting down the coffee.

Orientation : The girls looked up in surprise. “I heard the whole story,” said the

waitress as she sat down at the table. Ahmad and Maria look each

other. What could they do?

The waitress patted Ahmad’s hand, “I know just how you feel,

Complication : “What?”, asked Ahmad and Maria.

All three were silent for a moment. Then the woman continued, “I

was mad, sad, hurt, upset, and angry. I wanted to kill both of them.

But I never let them know.”

Resolution : “Really?, said Ahmad, looking surprised. “You never said

something?”

“Not a word,” said the waitress. “I even went to the wedding and

I’m glad I did. Guess who I met there!”

“Who?”, asked the girls.

“My future husband, Vharlie. Not a very good dancer but a

wonderful man in every other way. Our 30th anniversary is next

month, so you see, it’s not so bad. You are young, you can meet

somebody else… Why aren’t you drinking your coffee?”, the

waitress got up from the table. “Well, I have to get back to work.”

Mayor Res. : “Now remember, what I have told you, honey. Don’t cry. By the

way,” she added, “My name is Millie. Come backk some time and

tell me how you are doing.” The waitress walked away.

Reorientation : “What a strange woman,” said Maria in a whisper. “I can’t believe
