Explain to students that they will be using their critical thinking skills to solve a number of brainteasers throughout the room. Review how to critically think if necessary. Explain that they may work on any brainteaser at any time and do not have to go in order. Make sure all students have a pencil and a recording sheet before beginning. For younger students, it may be helpful to point out where the brainteasers are located throughout the classroom

Introduction 20 MINS

• Preparation:The day before the lesson, print all brainteasers. Priorto the lesson, number and tape brainteasers aroundthe room. Also have students create a #1-10 recordingsheet out of paper.

Lesson 30 MINS

Allow students time (about 15 mins.) to work individually around the room solving the brainteasers. Encourage students to try their hardest no matter how difficult the problem may seem and to use their critical thinking skills that were reviewed during the introduction.

Allow a few students to share which problems they found the easiest and hardest. Allow students to brainstorm their own brainteaser for you to solve, if time allows!

Closure 5 MINS
