Literacy Lesson Plan Literacy Lesson Plan for Emergent Reader: Give basic information found about child, including stage and characteristics showing this stage Late emergent Brandon is a kindergartener and is 6.1 years old. He identifies as a late emergent reader through looking at his assessment. He was able to recognize all the letters and sounds. While reading Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear he did not point to each word. His inability to follow along showed that he needed practice on concept of print. While looking at sight words, he was unable to identify many words. Brandon needs more practice writing words, he was unable to spell the words. Diet: For teaching an emergent reader the lesson should consists of 20 percent concept of print, alphabet, phonological awareness, concept of word, and writing. The concept of print is longer in the lesson because a read-aloud cannot be completed in only five minutes.
