After 3 weeks of researching and analyzing the importance of Money Management, the students will apply the information gather to design an Accounting Software for small business owners in their community. The demand for this project stems from the fact that during a recession period larger companies are affected the greatest and normally requires a larger sum of money for “bail out”. The small businesses, although affected, are still able to survive the recession period because of its small stable operation. As a final year project students will develop a web based program using Adobe Flex that tracks the daily operations of a business: sales, purchases, income, expense, assets and liabilities. The program must produce quarterly reports including graphs and financial sheets such as Income and Expense, Cash Flow Statement, Expense Reports, Trial Balance, Balance Sheet. The program must be user friendly with computer assistive capabilities such as zoom, narration, speech recognition and easy navigation through pages with step by step instructions. The program will also support smart phone capability using ProOnGo Expense Receipt Reader to draft the expense reports.

9. Time Needed to CompleteStudents will collaboratively work on this project for 1 month in groups of 3.
