Lesson Partner Assignment: Each student will be paired with another student of similar playing ability and experience. Between the two of you, you must schedule 2 opportunities to attend each other’s lesson. One of these lessons must take place prior to Fall Break, Oct. 10th. The 2nd one must be between Oct. 15th and Jury Day, Friday December 11th. If a partner is not able to attend the other’s lesson due to schedule conflict, another time will be determined with the instructor, or you might simply consider trading lesson times for that particular week. When you observe your lesson partner’s lesson, please take diligent and detailed notes based on the following questions: 1. What materials are being used? 2. What techniques are being employed and how? 3. What techniques seem to be helping and how might they be pursued in practice? 4. What strengths do you hear in your partner’s playing? 5. What do you hear that you think could improve and how? Following the lesson, you will meet with your partner to discuss your observations and to work with them in a “partner-practice” session. In other word’s, you will both work on the items you observed in each other’s lessons.
