Pirate Day Friday

On Friday 12th June, the student councillors are raising money for research into the prevention and cure of Childhood Brain Tumours. All children are encouraged to dress up as pirates and make a gold coin donation which includes the purchase of a white eye patch which the children can wear. White Eye Patch Day is an awareness day for CBC (Childhood Brain Cancer). The day is run by Crusade for Cancer which is the same charity that runs Pirate Day Friday. Eagles Reading

Corey Adamson came into our class on Wednesday 3rd June to teach us about the Eagles Fitness regime, diet and he also did some drills with us. We read a story about sportsmanship, the importance of playing fairly and healthy competition. From Year 5/6

Eagles Rock My School

On Friday 29th May, Mr Kim Hannah and Rick the Rock from the West Coast Eagles visited our school. They talked to the whole school about healthy eating, using Rick‟s lunch box as an example. Kim spoke about the importance of keeping fit and got everyone in the school, including the teachers and parents to join in with some exercises. Kim also talked to us about the importance of friendship and making others feel like they belong in our groups and activities. Rick was very entertaining and it was great to have them come out to our school to give us some tips for keeping a healthy lifestyle. You can see Rick the Rock in the front of our school at https://instagram.com/p/3QOS81jwHp/?taken-by=westcoasteagles By Kynan Year 6

Food Sensations

On the 9th June we had an activity called Food Sensations presented by Clair and Jenny from Foodbank. First we warmed up our body by doing a certain game called the Australian Healthy Pie Graph. To play the game, Jenny placed on the ground five healthy food options and 1 bad one which contained junk food. We were separated into six groups and each group had a healthy super disguise hero. We had one minute to complete the challenge. Each team took turns picking the right sort to complete the challenge. We then went and washed our hands to get cooking. Every team got a recipe and they were Zany Zucchini Dip, Rainbow Salad, Noodle Ninja Mince, The Dicer Slice and lastly Super Fruity French Toast which we had to cook. After every team had finished cooking, we had a small scrumptious picnic. Every team member had a bite of everything and we all wanted seconds. If only we could have it every Tuesday. Pirate Day

On Friday 12th of June there will be a Pirate Day Dress up. To dress up you will have to bring a gold coin but more would be appreciated. If you bring a gold coin you will also get a free eye patch. All money donated will go to brain cancer research and Telethon. Will you dress up? From the Student Leadership Team

Golf Clinic

For week 5,6 and 7 the year 3/4 and 5/6 classes had a Golf Clinic for one hour each Friday afternoon. Billie, the instructor was from the Perth Golf centre, she made it very fun and quite challenging for us. We did competitions to see who could get the most points and who could hit the furthest. On the last week Billie set up a mini Golf course for us. The last hole was about 50m from where you started. Overall we had a great time at golf and most of us improved our golfing skills.
