• Shows the goals, general activities, inputs and outputs of the various processes.

• Does not "cast in stone" every action you should do on a day-to-day basis.

• ITIL Refresh: now "Version 3" is in delivered.

achieve without ownership of the specific costs and risks• e.g. a “backup service” means that you don’t have to care about how

much tapes, disks or robots cost and you don’t have to worry if one of the staff is off sick or leaves

• Service Level• Measured and reported achievement against one or more service

level targets. E.g.:• Red = 1 hour response 24/7• Amber = 4 hour response 8/5• Green = Next business day

• “Business Continuity” is a set of MAINLY ORGANIZATIONAL measures to ensure that Business can go on (downgraded at worst) with one or more unavailable assets

• IT Continuity• A set of MAINLY TECHNICAL measures to reduce the unavailability

of the IT services• Part of business continuity
