English: WritingWriting - Journal - One Paragraph per Day

the moment. Try to find out some facts and

statistics not only about COVID 19 but also about

primary source of information for them. Consider

the following prompts: What did the Australian

neighbourhood? What is closed? How is today

nation, the world? What does your family need

today that you might not have enough of, or be

able to acquire, in the future?

Materials: a toy car, a smooth, hard surface such as a chopping board or book, a box to launch the car from,

blocks or lego bricks to gradually increase the height of the ramp, blanket, ruler.

Procedure:

1. Make predictions on your worksheet after looking at the diagram on your worksheet.

2. Answer the following questions on your worksheet. How will you increase the height of the ramp?

When will you change the surface the car rolls on to? What formal units will be best for measuring the

distance? What should be kept the same for all tests? How many times should we repeat the same test

to be confident of our results? What heights (choose two) and what surfaces (choose two) will be

used? What one thing will be changed for each

3. Conduct the investigation and record your results in the table on the worksheet. Take a photo of the

investigation showing the different heights and surfaces.

4. Analyse your results and draw a column graph.

5. Reflect on the investigation questions. Does the data in the graph support your prediction? How and

why or why not? Suggest reasons. Discuss the role of gravity and energy. Discuss if the test was fair.
