Learning days at Moseley Old Hall Learning days at Moseley Old Hall Learning days at Moseley Old Hall Learning days at Moseley Old Hall Welcome Moseley Old Hall is a centuries old farmhouse with fascinating stories to tell, of Tudor life, secrets and hiding places, and a crucial role the house played in Stuart history. We have a team of costumed interpreters to bring these stories to life – welcome in! What we offer: School programmes are available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from March to November. Flexible – we’re happy to build a day or half-day to meet your needs – please dis- cuss with the Learning Officer. Living History and Activity days – lots of hands on historical activities to try. All activities suitable for KS1 and KS2 Red Riding Hood – take part in the traditional story and meet Red Riding Hood and her Grandma. Explore the woods – make a den, cook around the campfire or play in the mud kitchen! Tudor Life Discover what life was like in a country house, by taking part in a variety of household tasks: Butter and baking – a taste of the daily routine in the old Brewhouse, making butter from cream, and bread to spread it on. Health and Hygiene – what did the Tudors think caused diseases, and what did they think would cure them? Including making pot pourri and pomanders. Tudor Childhood – how much time did Tudor children have to play, and what work did they do? Try out some Tudor toys and games. Quills and Secret Messages – Moseley Old Hall has its own secrets, but find out about secret messages, and make your own using quill pens. Music and Dance – how did people relax and enjoy themselves in Tudor times? A chance to dress up and put your best toe forward! Military Life – find out how to use a pike-staff and don’t forget to pay good attention to the drill sergeant – your life might depend on it! The story of the escape is brought to life with storytelling, giving children the opportunity to dress up and take the roles of the characters in the story.
