Textured & Gradient Font Create a new document by choosing New Blank File from the File menu. From the Toolbox, select the Text tool. In the Options bar, click the arrow next to first drop down box. Select a thick font. In the third box, type in a large size like 100. Type the desired text. From the Toolbox, click the Move tool and move the text to the desired location. Adjust the size of the text by pressing cmd/ctrl-T on your keyboard and dragging the corner handle to the desired size. For a gradient, go to the Layers palette and click on the New layer icon (dog-eared paper icon). Click in the foreground box and select a colour from the colour picker. Click in the background box and select a colour from the colour picker. From the Toolbox, select the gradient tool. In the Options bar, ensure the correct gradient is selected. To create the gradient background, click at the top of the canvas and drag a line toward the bottom. In the Layers palette, click on the line between the gradient layer and the text layer while holding down the alt/opt key on the keyboard. To make text from a picture, delete the gradient layer. Open a picture. It will appear in the project bin. Click on the picture you are working on with the text. From the Toolbox, select the Move tool. Drag the picture from the Project bin on to your picture. Make sure the picture is above the text. Resize the picture as necessary by clicking cmd/ctrl-T and resizing with the corner handle. In the Layers palette, click between the picture layer and the text layer while holding down the alt/opt key.
