Accountability Statement The Multimedia Maintenance and Operations Officer is accountable to the Operations Manager for the effective operation and maintenance of the Heartbeat of the Murray Laser Light Spectacular.

Position Objective The responsible Lead Multimedia Maintenance and Operations Officer must be able to perform daily routine tasks to ensure the safe and successful operation of the show each night, it is envisaged that the Multimedia Maintenance and Operations Officer should be able to perform the following functions:

Key Responsibility Areas Under the direction and supervision of the Operations Manager, the Lead Multimedia Maintenance and Operations Officer will need to: Access all areas of the site and provide daily checks on all electrical, data services in order to

place all equipment in standby mode each day, if in fault the Lead Multimedia Maintenance and Operations Officer will need to investigate and rectify prior to the show to ensure a successful performance.

Monitor all fluid levels and refill where required, bubble, snow, fog and flame head machines as well as monitor the diesel levels of the power generation system used within the show, which are scattered over various areas of the site.

Be responsible for the cleaning of the projection and laser lenses as well as the optical glass (inside and out) on the projection hut, this equipment has been precisely aligned and during the cleaning process cannot be moved, access to the lenses and glass is confined due to the proximity to the anti-reflective glass and the required space between the lenses and the mounting bench.

Clean the lenses of the LED light fittings mounted on Pental Island weekly to ensure dust / dirt and residue build up does impact the show quality.

Co-operate with and work to assist hirers of the venue in the necessary arrangements for their functions.

Liaise with Operations Manger to ensure venue priorities are met. Provide timely and accurate production and presentation, of all outputs generated by this position. Provide information and support to hirers and/or more senior employees. Correctly use and report maintenance needs of all equipment, plant and machinery. Occupational Health and Safety Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety procedures and requirements. Understand and observe Council's Risk Management Policy and related Procedures and

undertake the requirements of the position with reasonable care in relation to personal health and safety and the health and safety of other staff and venue users.

Correctly use and report maintenance needs of all PPE and replacement as required. Work safely and not place at risk the health and safety of other workers or the public. As directed, undertake ongoing Occupational Health and Safety training. Identify and report workplace OH&S and Risk issues or relevant problems. Report all injuries, accidents, incidents, near misses and/or unsafe plant equipment, machinery or

conditions in the workplace.

Accountability and Extent of Authority In consultation with the Operations Manager, make decisions on how issues raised within the

areas of responsibility are to be addressed.

Exercise loyalty, good judgment and discretion in all dealings and maintain confidentiality.

The occupant of this position acts under the general guidelines of the Pioneer Settlement Program and within Council policy and procedures.

This position works within established standards and procedures to achieve the stated objectives. Guidance and advice is always available from the Supervisor.

Ensure all work is undertaken in a safe and effective manner based on accepted industry practices.

Judgment and Decision Making Reports regularly to the Operations Manager to ensure adherence and progress to allocated

responsibilities

Under general supervision and within established guidelines, personal judgement may be applied to work situations to carry out those duties and responsibilities as specified in this position description.

Required to assess counter and telephone enquiries and either provide information/advice or refer matters to other officers.

Guidance and advice is available when and if required. Decisions are always subject to review.

Judgment is required in the application of administration procedures and in the need for confidentiality when dealing with issues.

The incumbent is expected to demonstrate considerable ability to solve problems and manage information in a customer service environment.

Specialist Skills and Knowledge Knowledge of relevant work practices and Occupational Health and Safety procedures, including

working from heights and working with water.

General computer software skills within the Microsoft Office suite.

Understanding of the function of the position within the organisation, including the application of established policies and procedures.

Ability to operate lighting, sound, and AV equipment. Ability to manage some manual handling tasks.

Ability to undertake Risk and OH&S assessments within theatre environment.

Ability to be flexible and resourceful in the delivery of the program.

Qualifications and Experience Understanding of electronics and/or basic building industry skills. Current Victorian Drivers License Current Level II First Aid Certificate

Special Conditions Hours of work will vary according to the workload and scheduling in the Venues. It is probable that a significant portion of hours will be on weekends and in evenings. Thus special engagement provisions will apply to this position and are reflected in the Victorian Local Authorities Award 2001.
