• 3 most popular theories in recent discussion about how they believe when and how the world is going to end

Introduction

• There is no evidence to support that we are living in the last days.

• I do not believe that any of these theories have enough evidence to support their predictions

Preamble

• The Mayan Calendar predicts that the World will end on December 21, 2012

• On December, 2012, the Mayan calendar stops keeping track of time.

Mayan Calendar

• “ The most notable event slated for that 2012 will happen in the sky. For the first time around 25,800 years, the sun will align with the center of the milky way galaxy…”

• This date has to do more with how the Mayans set up their calendar contingent upon star alignments

Analysis

Nostradamus

• Many experts believe Nostradamus was sent by God• Wrote short poem called quatrains• Predicted many events that took place several years after he died

• This is proof of Barack Obama’s presidency

• Quatrains are too vague• lack timestamps, places, or names.• Makes prediction about how a comet will end civilization,

others interpret that poem as the start of WWIII

AnalysisThe man will be called by a barbaric name that three sisters will receive from destiny. He will speak then to a great people in words and deeds, more than any other man will have fame and renown

The Bible

• Contains many verses about the divine revelation.• A messenger from Heaven will come to collect the souls of the

righteous• The rest will suffer for all eternity.

• The evidence supporting that we are any closer to Armageddon now than during the last condensed flurry of natural disasters in the world’s timeline is minimal.

• , the world was a far smaller place and made even smaller by the lack of cross-country communication like we have today. Back then a string of natural disasters all happening in the same area would be something extraordinary, but with how vast the earth is today, and the news made to fit in the palm of one’s hand, the events we do hear about stack up rather quickly.

Analysis

• There is no evidence that we are any closer to the end of the world today than we were yesterday.

• The Mayan Calendar is misrepresented by those who weren't really familiar with the number system.

• The predictions of Nostradamus are oddly detailed in description but lack times, names and locations.
