CAJO VEGA™

Cajo Vega™ marking system has been specifically developed for flexible and high class marking of semi-final and final products. With lots of con-figurations available, for example conveyor belt and automatic side doors, it can be integrated as a part of the production line, or used as a separate working station. The system is capable of permanently marking stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals and plastics.

Pre-defined marking library for selected materials is built into the system.The external control stand with easy-to-use user interface allows flexible customization of marking content, for example, logos, serial numbers, bar-codes, QR codes, data matrices and other product information. Cajo Vega for Wire harness™ is a turn-key solution for high class marking of wire harnesses. It includes a dedicated jig for marking thin and ultra-thin wires. Cajo Hercules Multimark™ is a turn-key solution for high-class marking of semi-finished and finished products with varying marking content. The marking head moves in X, Y and Z axes and the system enables marking multiple parts of one large item or several smaller items at one run. Cajo Hercules for Extrusion™ is a completely automatized on-the-fly mark-ing solution for continuous metal and plastic extrusion processes. It includes 1–3 laser units, which enables markings simultaneously from different an-gles. Cajo marking lasers keep pace with the production speed while deliv-ering optimum marking result. The system is capable of permanently mark-ing different metals and plastics, like PE and PVC. Autofocus adjusts marking head position and follows the object´s movement in real-time.

Pre-defined marking library for selected materials is built into the system. Variable marking content can be entered via TCP/IP communication or HMI panel. Cajo Tailor Fiber™ and Cajo Tailor Advanced™ are laser systems that can be integrated to a production line or to a device. The systems enable high-speed on-the-fly marking, without stopping the production line and they have been designed to replace the traditional mark-ing methods, such as ink jets. Cajo Tailor systems allow for a precise, homogeneous and du-rable marking that is not dependent on the environmental conditions or surface structure.

CAJOCAD™CAJOMARK™CajoCad™ is a comprehensive software for quickly and easily design-ing and creating markings.

The software has a variety of CAD tools that make it straightforward to design markings for any purpose. Common patterns, lines, shapes, text using Windows TrueType or SHX font, and machine-readable codes such as QR codes and bar codes are easy to add and custom-ize. CajoCad™ is also well suited for creating markings with company logos and other images, which can be added to the marking as vector graphics. Software supports the use of automatically generated times-tamps and serial numbers on markings in different forms. Additionally, CajoCad™ is used to design marking templates which are used in CajoMark.

CajoMark™ is the easy-to-use software for operating Cajo lasers in a production environment.

Easy-to-use user interface and product specific workflow makes the con-trolling of marking process easy. User interface and workflows can be configured according customers’ needs. The marking workflow, which controls the whole marking process from beginning to end, can be mod-eled for each customers’ product separately. Variable marking content and settings can be entered manually or retrieved from other systems, such as database. Variable marking content can be, for example product IDs, serial numbers, batch numbers, and timestamps. With the software Cajo laser marking system can be connected to customers’ existing pro-duction and automation systems. Additionally, CajoMark™ supports re-mote control of Cajo laser marking systems via local area network.

Inkjet replaced by integrable laser marking systemBoliden, the world’s fifth largest producer of zinc metal from smelters, previously used the inkjet method to mark the batch number and date of manufacture on their zinc bars. The method was challenging due to surface humidity and temperature variation. Due to the heat, the zinc bars are cooled by water, which might leave small water pearls to the surface. This makes all the other marking methods unreliable.

The solution by Cajo was a fully automated marking system integrated into the customer’s production line. The solution allows for inserting additional information in the marking, such as graphics and 2D codes. It is essential for the further processing of the product that Cajo’s tech-nology allows marking in an ecologically sound way with no additives or pigments.

Speed of the production line doubled with the help of Cajo’s solutionThe Norwegian company Aker Solutions is using Cajo´s solution for marking subsea umbilical cables. The outer coating of the umbilicals manufactured by Aker is PE plastic. It has traditionally been extremely challenging to achieve permanent markings on the surface of PE plas-tic due to its slippery surface.

One production batch may refer to the production of a continuous cable that is about 50 miles long. In this case the production line is run 24/7 non-stop, and for this reason the marking process must also work in a maintenance-free and reliable manner. The marking cell commu-nicates directly with the company’s own MES and SCADA systems. MES produces variable marking data for the laser unit, and SCADA can be used to manage the functions of the marking cell.

The marking solution allowed the speed capacity of the production line to be doubled, and thus, the repayment period of the investment was 18 months.
