WEEKLY MASS SCHEDULE
Scripture Lesson: As we begin a
period of Ordinary Time in the Church, the first lesson that we are taught is found in today’s Gospel – “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the
world!” These all familiar words that we hear at every Mass before we receive Holy Communion, are central to our faith. We gaze upon Jesus, who under the appearance of bread and wine becomes sacramentally present to us in the gift of His Body and Blood. As the Lamb of God, His life is sacrificed for each of us personally and for all humanity, so that the SIN of the world – from the beginning to the end of time – would know forgiveness and everlasting joy! Our response to this truth claims our unworthiness and our need for God to heal our soul. Receiving Christ in Holy Communion allows “Jesus to live within us”, so that “we can change the world!”
monde!»
Flu and Cold Season: If you think you have a cold or the flu, please do NOT attend Mass and risk exposing your fellow parishioners to your illness. Take
the time to get better first! If you are a person at higher risk for complications from the flu, and you wish to refrain from attending Mass until the flu season is over, you can watch Mass on Salt & Light TV or YouTube.
Pray for the sick in our Family of Parishes,
especially: Judy Durocher, Christina Mancina,
Lilah Lamont, Chiara Tedesco, Ken Gaspar,
Fiorae Zanchetta, Barb Coates, Teresa Durante,
Lorne Meloche, Robert Robinet, Allan Taylor,
Anne Ducharme, Ed Regan, Elsie Rousseau,
Howard Paddon, Margaret Gignac, Margaret Blondin ,
Frank Riegl, Emily Perry, Larry Delmore and Larry
Marcotte.
Pray for the deceased, remembering especially
Sally Meloche, wife of Al Meloche of St. Joseph Parish .
Eucharistic Adoration: There are
opportunities in our Family of Parishes to
spend time with Jesus in the Blessed
Sacrament. The consecrated host (Jesus
Himself) is placed in a monstrance on the
main altar of the Church where adorers (individuals,
families, parish groups and visitors) can come and spend
some quiet reflective time adoring Jesus. This is a great
experience that encourages the deepening of our love for
the Lord and of our conviction of His love for us! It is a
time to praise, worship and thank the Lord Jesus.
Adoration occurs in each of our three churches and in
several of our neighbouring parishes as well. It is
important to understand that all are welcome to come and
spend time in prayer before the Lord, but we must realize
that the Blessed Sacrament is not to be left unattended.
There must be someone in the Church from the time that
Adoration begins until its conclusion.
To ensure that there is always someone in the Church
during Adoration, those who plan to attend are asked to
sign up in advance. Adoration is divided into half-hour
time slots. Of course, you are welcome to stay longer. If
there are not enough parishioners interested in this prayer
experience, then it will have to be suspended. Please note
that the sign-up sheet is at the elevator entrance at St.
Paul and Sacred Heart Churches – and at the main
entrance of St. Joseph Church. Please be sure to sign-up
in advance or to sign your name when you arrive for a
period of prayer.
May the Lord grace us with the power of His love, so that as we adore Jesus who lives within us, our prayer of praise and thanksgiving may give us the courage to believe that we can change the world
Parish Pastoral Council: When
we were named a Family of Parishes,
the instruction came forward that a
“Transition Team”, made up of equal
membership discerned from each
Parish Pastoral Council would gather
with the Priests and Pastoral Staff to discuss, discern
and advise what would be best for the Family. In the 5
months that followed, the Transition team met regularly
and struggled to come to consensus regarding such
issues as Mass schedules and times, the preparation and
reception of sacraments, etc. The Pastor met with each
employee to review their job descriptions and re-aligned
their responsibilities according to their wishes and gifts.
It became clear that we needed to work together as a
team rather than remaining in silos. The changes have
been difficult for the Priests, the Pastoral Team and the
Staff of our three parishes. It is clear that these changes
have also affected our parishioners.
We are now preparing to move forward to establish a
Family of Parishes Pastoral Council (PPC). This is a
GREAT OPPORTUNITY to come forward to help us
build a strong community. One member from each
parish will step down from the Transition Team and one
will remain so that there is some continuity in our
gatherings. WE ARE SEEKING TWO
PARISHIONERS FROM EACH PARISH TO STEP
FORWARD, BECOME PART OF A DISCERNMENT
PROCESS AND PERHAPS JOIN THE NEWLY
FORMED PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL.
Included in next week’s bulletin will be an insert
regarding the discernment process. In the past, some
parishioners were invited by the Pastor to be part of the
PPC and others were elected by their fellow
parishioners. The Diocese of London requires that the
PPC be formed by parishioners who have discerned
their gifts for membership on this advisory committee.
The term of office is three years and can be renewed
one time. At the end of six years, that individual must
step away for a minimum of three years. This gives
everyone in the community a chance to step forward
bringing new ideas to the Council.
The role of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) is to set the “spiritual direction” for the Family of Parishes. In other words, it is the PPC who sets the Pastoral Plan in place and who are responsible to ensure that the plan is followed.

Vocation Corner: “Discovering vocation does not mean scrambling toward some prize just beyond my reach but accepting the treasure of true self I already possess. Vocation does not
come from a voice "out there" calling me to be something I am not. It comes from a voice "in here" calling me to be the person I was born to be, to fulfill the original selfhood given me at birth by God.”
- Thomas Merton
