Suggested Activities•Dance

( First half term)

Traditional Welsh Folk dances. Initially introducing the children to two Welsh Folk dances ‘Jac a do’ and Cylch a Cymru’ Practise with various partners and perform.

Identify key steps in traditional Welsh Dances – skip , side step, promenade, dozy doe,,bridge , cast off ,swing clap sequences

Ask children to work individually, in pairs or in small groups to compose their own simple Welsh Folk dance to a familiar piece of music.
