Forestry ProductionTimberland accounted for 82.2 percent of the surface land area of Lamar County. Total forestry production contributed 52.9 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production.

Overall Contributions to Lamar CountyLamar County’s agricultural, forestry, and related industries generated 1,725 full- and part-time jobs, representing 32.2 percent of the county’s total workforce (5,363 jobs).

The total impact of agriculture, forestry, and related industries was $154.2 million, which was 22.3 percent of the county’s total economic activity ($690.4 million). The indirect business taxes impact was $5.9 million, 29.9 percent of the county’s total indirect business taxes.
