District heating and cogeneration plant in Aranda de Duero

• Cogeneration CCGT plant located in the Michelin production

factory in Aranda de Duero

• Process consisting of three stages:

1. Power generation through gas turbine from natural gas2. Power generation through steam turbine (high pressure

steam obtained from the evacuated gas)3. Power generation through steam turbine (low pressure)

• Combine the district heating and the cogeneration plant so as to profit from the surplus low-pressure steam generated in the cogeneration plant

• The remaining steam is used to heat water, which is placed in the water storage tank to be distributed to the final consumers

• Substation to interchange steam-water and steam-overheated water

• Ultrasonic meters used to meter the steam used to warm the water

• Control remote system to adjust the output steam based on the power generation estimate

• Maximize the overall efficiency of both processes, by utilizing the energy to reduce the energy input of the processes

• Contribution capacity of low-pressure steam from the cogeneration used

to heat water for the water storage tank and overheat water for industrial

players

• For the hot water to the storage tank:

• Substation of 12 MW consisting of two condensers JAD

• 800m of DN250 underground pipelines until the water storage tank

• For the overheated water:

• Substation of 4 MW consisting of a DNA exchanger to generate

overheated water

• 1,200m of DN100 pipelines
