Health is the greatest blessing for man.High health standard of the people is theprestige of the nation.

Now, it rains a lot, and denguehemorrhagic fever, malaria, diarrhea, coughand pneumonia may rare their ugly headsagain . So, we should take preventive measuresagainst those seasonal diseases. In particular, mosquito is the most prolific in the rainy season.Accordingly, we have to pay serious attentionto prevention and control of DHF. If so, we canstay away from the diseases caused bymosquito.

Aedes aegypti mosquitoes liveeverywhere, even in the regions at an altitudeof 3000 feet. In general, they breed in clearwater. They stay hiding in sites near people, and bite people in daytime. Mostly, under-15children, especially between three and nineyears suffer DHF. Now, DHF cases are foundeven among some adult people. DHF cases canoccur, regardless of age and season.

Mosquito repellent is to be sprayed inschools, as health care and preventive measures.

Common symptoms of denguehemorrhagic fever are high body temperature, body pains, serious illness, reddish spots on theskin, and bleeding inside body.

The government has been stepping uphealth care services for uplift of the health andfitness, longevity and disease-free life of theentire people. In response, the people, on theirpart, should have to follow the directives issuedoccasionally by the Ministry of Health.

Discovery in ‘pop’ science reveals theelegant, complex way bubbles burst

Bubble. When the interfacial bubble ruptures ituncovers a dimple on the water surface. Thehigh curvature of this dimple causes a jet to

form; since this jet does not have enoughkinetic energy to be propelled into the

atmosphere it returns to the interface. Yet,around the jet, there is a ring of smaller

bubbles formed during the film retraction.INTERNET

WASHINGTON, 13 June— On the surface ofthings, how a bubblebursts may seem to be asimple, unremarkable

event. In the 10th Juneissue of Nature, engineers at Harvardreport just the opposite, having uncovered the

beautifully complexphysics behindrupturing bubbles.

Instead ofsimply vanishing, alarge bubble dispersesinto a ring of smallerbubbles. The findingcould be appropriatelycalled an advance in“pop” science.

Lead author JamesC. Bird, a graduatestudent at the HarvardSchool of Engineeringand Applied Sciences(SEAS) and hiscolleagues believe theyhave stumbled upon auniversal behaviour inhow bubbles pop thatholds as true for suds ina sink as it does for foamin the ocean.

WASHINGTON, 13 June —Reality shows such as“American Idol” and “Apprentice” have almost nophysical violence, but a new study suggests theirrampant displays of name-calling and snarkygossiping still make for a much meaner TV-viewingexperience compared with watching fictional TVshows. The realistic portrayal of aggression onreality TV shows might even encourage viewers toimitate the non-physical aggression in real life, according to some theories. That verbal or relationalaggression typically slips past TV-rating systemsand media watchdog groups, which focus insteadon condemning the physical violence of gunfightsand fisticuffs.

“All of these reality shows would never receivea rating of violence or aggression from the currentrating systems,” said Sarah Coyne, a psychologistat Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, andlead researcher on the new study.

Verbal aggression includes direct taunts orinsults. By contrast, relational aggression includesmore indirect attacks on social status or relationships, such as anonymous gossip-mongering or threats toend a friendship. —Internet

NEW YORK, 13 June— Diabetes can lead to adecline in memory, thinking speed, and mentalflexibility in middle age, but controlling the bloodsugar disorder might prevent some of these effects, new research from the Netherlands suggests.

While the mental decline may be invisible tothe individual, the fact that the drop-off startsaccumulating in middle age puts diabetics at greaterrisk later on because of reduced “brain reserves,”Dr David Knopman, of the Mayo Clinic inRochester, Minnesota, told Reuters Health.

“Like a bicycle tire that’s been partially deflated— you’ll be OK riding around but if you developanother little leak you’ll be much closer to a flat tiremuch faster,” said Knopman, who was not involvedin the Dutch study.

BEIJING, 13 June—Auto prices in China roseslightly year on year in May, according to salesstatistics of 36 major cities released by the pricemonitoring center under the National Developmentand Reform Commission (NDRC) on Sunday.

In May, prices of the country’s domesticallymade automobiles edged up 1.04 percent year onyear, but dropped 0.24 percent month on month, astatement posted on the NDRC website said.

The NDRC price monitoring center predictedthat, after much volatility, imported vehicle priceswould stabilize.

Climbing stockpiles of domestically made au-tomobiles may push auto prices down in the shortrun, but the price drop would not be huge giventhe recent decline in oil prices and the government’spreferential policies towards new energy vehicles, the center said.—Xinhua

Yet people living elsewhere arelikely to see food productivity increase, they added ina paper published in Science. Overall, the food secu-rity of 4.5% of 1.4bn people in the region is threat-ened, the researchers conclude.

More than 1.4bn people depend on water from theIndus, Ganges, Brahmaputra, Yangtze and Yellowrivers.”We show that meltwater is extremely impor-tant in the Indus basin and important for theBrahmanputra basin, but only plays a modest role forthe Ganges, Yangtze and Yellow rivers,” the team fromthe Netherlands wrote.

“The Brahmaputra and Indus basins are most sus-ceptible to reductions of flow, threatening the food se-curity of an estimated 60m people.—Internet

British scrapyard clips jets’wings - and then everything else

ALTON, 13 June—In its heyday, this Boeing 747-200 cargo jet soared high in the sky to such destina-tions as Halifax, Miami, Panama, Dakar, Harare, Tehran,Bangkok and Shanghai. But the final destination forthe MK Airlines plane was a small airfield in the scenichills of the Cotswolds of Britain, where all that remainedof it after about 12 weeks of dismantling was a pile ofscrap aluminum that was taken away to be recycled intoCoca-Cola cans and other everyday items.

Another 747-200 sat nearby, the next to be scrapped, its parts to be reused and the rest recycled or disposedof in an unglamorous end for a jet that logged millionsof kilometres since entering service in 1975, flown byvarious owners including British Airways and DubaiAir Wing. They were just two in a growing line of air-craft decommissioned by Air Salvage International, which has become one of the world’s busiest airplanescrapyards.

The British company is benefiting from the aviationindustry’s slump in the global economic downturn, which is forcing airlines and air transport companies toretire unneeded aging planes as they take delivery ofnewer, quieter and more fuel-efficient models.

Try convincing the US team and its fans therewasn’t a winner in the 1-1 draw with mighty England.

Preview matches on Netherland Vs Denmark;Japan Vs Cameroon and Italy Vs Paraguay on 14 June

YANGON, 13 June—World ranking 4 Netherland, one of the champion favouritesin 2010 World Cup and world ranking Denmark 36 are going to play their matchof Group-E of the 2010 World Cup in Soccer City in South Africa on 14 June.

Netherland Vs DenmarkBoth teams encountered five times after 1991 and Netherland won three

matches and two draws but Denmark had three failures and two draws in theirhead-to-head position. In comparison with the strength of the players and skills, there is a large gap between Netherland and Denmark. Netherland are muchbetter than Denmark in defence, midfield and attack. Denmark will find difficultyin penetrating into the defence of Denmark. If the lucks are brought to Netherland,Netherland will win over Denmark by a wide margin.

2003 and 2007 and Japan won two matches and one draw whereas Cameroonhad two losses and one draw. In comprison with the players and skills, Cameroonare better than Japan. Japan will surely struggle in its group and it is not easy toreach the play-off stage. Cameroon have a lot of prolific players in its lineup. Thismatch is supposed that Cameroon will win or draw but not lose to its opponentJapan. If the fortune stands by Cameroon, it will whitewash the opponent.

will play their Group-F match of the 2010 World Cup in Cape Town in SouthAfrica on 14 June.

Both teams played two times in their head-to-head position in 1950 and 1998and Italy won both matches. The recent friendly results of Italy are not encourag-ing and so are Paraguay. Italy’s stylish play is not so satisfactory in the groupmatches but if Italy reaches beyond the group stage, it can cause trouble to everyopponents. Italy is organized with well-experienced players but the players areolder than other teams. Paraguay have well-qualified attackers but lack of de-fence. This match is likely to finish in a draw.

Jennifer Aniston wants to bring “Friends” tobig screen

BEIJING, 13 June—Television and film actress Courtney Cox said herformer “Friends” costar Jennifer Aniston is planning a film about a reunion ofthe cast of the popular American sitcom, Ent.qq.com reports.

Cox told reporters that Aniston generated the idea when she saw thesuccess of Home Box Office’s film version of “Sex and the City.” The second“Sex and the City” film this year reinforced Anniston’s decision to make a“Friends” reunion film, the report said.

Although Aniston has many great ideas for making the film, the projectwill not be easy to pull off. Cox said that unlike “Sex and the City” whichhopped all over Manhattan, “Friends” took place mainly in a New Yorkapartment and the “Central Perk” coffeehouse.
