Starter:
• IntroducetheconceptofaworldmapeitherthroughlocatingtheUKonGoogleEarthbyzoominginfromaworldviewtotheshapeoftheUK,orbyshowingaworldmapposterandfindingtheUK.
• Showhotandcoldphotocardsanddiscusseachinturn.Sortthepicturesintohotandcoldplacesbyencouragingthechildrentolookcarefullyatthepicturestoseewhatpeoplearewearing,whattheweatherlookslike,whatsortofplantsaregrowingetc.
• Usingyourworldmap,showthechildrenwhereintheworldthesepicturesweretaken.Explainthatthesephotographsrepresentwhatthatplaceislikesomeofthetimeandisapictureofjustoneplacethereinordernottoreinforcestereotypes,whilstalsoprovidinganimagetoholdonto.
