King Street is an Allergy Aware School

This is a reminder for all families that some of our

students have serious reactions to products

containing nuts and fish. We ask that you please

do not send foods or containers to school that

contain nut or fish products. This includes

nutella and peanut butter spread.

Showing Positive Behaviour for

Learning

Tawny congratulates the following

students for displaying our King Street

Values of Kind, Safe, Proud and

Supportive in Week 7:

Our Week 7 PBL Draw winners.

Cody Heffernan’s Show and Tell a Hit

Cody Heffernan found himself reminiscing about his

time at King Street Public School as a student while

visiting 3T, 3/4G and K/1B for Show and Tell last

Friday. Cody talked to the students about bull riding

and the safety, equipment, hard work and

commitment required. He also showed the students

his prized possessions-his winning buckles.

Cody holds the PBR-Professional Bull Riders

National Champion Title and has also had trips to

competitions in America placing him 38th in the world

last year.

Thank you Cody for taking the time to visit us at

KSPS.

Students Shine at Eisteddfod Once Again

On Tuesday 6th June, a busload of Stage 2 Students

attended the Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter

Eisteddfod.

3T performed in the ‘Choral Verse Speaking Section

3rd Grade’ and took 3rd place on the day. They were

commended on their confidence and huge smiles.

4M performed in ‘Choral Verse Speaking Section 4th

Grade’ and placed 2nd. The judges praised them for

a well-rehearsed performance and great eye contact

with their conductor.

Along with whole class performances we had small

group performances, including a ‘Readers Theatre

Group’ from 3/4G. The group consisted of Harrison

M, Noah H, Meisha H, Sierra M, Emmerson G,

Tahlia C and Emylia P W. These students did a

fantastic job and secured 2nd place!

There were two more performances from our

students in the Drama section of the Eisteddfod.

“The Duck Song” was a hilarious skit performed by

Evey H, Matilda H, Jai P and Hamarnie S. This

group knew their parts well and claimed 2nd place. In

the final act of the day we had Ella H, Abby M and

Jacob J presenting a comedy skit “A Day at the

Rhyme Time Diner.” With plenty of expression and

great enthusiasm this group took away 1st place for

the day!

Students had a great time during the excursion and

we would like to especially thank Ms Garven for her

hard work and efforts in organising the day for us.

Well done Stage 2!

Fabulous Community Spirit for ‘Beanies for

Brain Cancer’ Fundraiser

Last Friday King Street Public School held a

fundraiser for the Mark Hughes Foundation ‘Beanies

for Brain Cancer’ campaign. Our students and

teachers wore beanies or hats and donated a gold

coin towards helping to find a cure.

We would like to thank Woolworths and Bakers

Delight for providing the food for our sausage sizzle.

We also extend a special thank you to Lindy and the

staff from One Agency who organised our special

visitors and donated their time to cook for and serve

our students.

KSPS raised $320. Your generosity is much

appreciated!

PSSA Reps Special Surprise

While league legend Mark Hughes was at KSPS he

kindly took time out to present our PSSA Upper

Hunter Rugby League Representative’s their

pennants. Congratulations Ryan E, Paris F and

Naite H.

HAROLD MERCHANDISE Dear Parents,

Life Education NSW is a not for profit community-based organisation that relies heavily on the raising of funds within the community to assist in meeting the shortfall left after receiving assistance from Government funding.

The sale of Harold merchandise to the children whilst the program is visiting each school supports the fundraising activities of local committees and all proceeds support Life Education within each local area.

These products help to remind children about the messages delivered to them during their Life Education session and have either a picture of Harold or the Life Education logo on them.

The educator will provide the opportunity for children to purchase these products during the school visit. Please provide the correct money in an envelope with the item written on the face of the envelope along with your child’s name and class. This allows the educator to process orders efficiently and accurately.
