No matter how lazy Satan makes you feel, read this booklet in its

entirety. your Faith will get revitalised.

Excellence ofalt-Alan-Nab The Prophet of Rama, the Intercessor of Umma, the Ownerof Janna said, Whoever recites alt twohundred times on Friday, his sins of 200 years will be forgiven. (Kanz-ul-Umml, pp. 256, Vol. 1, ad 2238)

    1. King ofJinnsAb Sad Abdulla bin Amad says, Once, my daughterFima disappeared from the roof of the house. I got worriedand went to the blessed court of Suln-ul-Auliy, Shaykh

Ghau-ul-Aam and implored for help. He said, Go to Karkh (city) and sit in a deserted place over thereduring night forming a spiritual fencing (i.e. a circle) around

yourself. Recite and contemplate of me. During the

night, many caravans of jinns will pass by you. Their faces willbe very strange but do not be frightened whatsoever. At thetime of dawn, the King of jinns will come to you and ask youof your need. Tell him, Shaykh Abd-ul-Qdir Jln has sent me from Baghdad and you have to search for my lostdaughter.

Therefore, I set out for Karkh and followed the instructions ofGhau-ul-Aam . During the silence of the night, terrifying jinns passed by my fencing. Their faces were sohorrific that I could not endure to look at them. At the time ofdawn, the King of jinns came riding on a horse along with

many other jinns. He remained outside the fencing and askedme what I wanted. I said that Ghau-ul-Aam hassent me to you. Hearing this, he dismounted the horse and saton the ground. The other jinns did the same and sat on theground outside the fencing. I informed him about the mishapof my daughter. The King of jinns made an announcement

amongst the jinns, Who has kidnapped the girl? Withinmoments, a Chinese Jinn was captured and brought forward asthe culprit. The King asked, Why did you kidnap the girlfrom the city of the Qub1 of these times? The Chinese jinntrembled and replied, Your Highness! I fell in love with her atfirst sight. The King ordered for beheading of the Chinese

jinn and had my beloved daughter returned to me.

1 Qub is a person at a very high and especial spiritual rank.

Thanking the King, I said, ! You are a great

devotee of Shaykh Ghau-ul-Aam. He replied: By Allah

,when Ghau-ul-Aam looks at us, all the jinns begin

to tremble. When Allah nominates a Qub, all the jinnsand human beings are ordered to obey him. (Bajat-ul-Asrr, p. 140)

    2. True Devotee of Ghau-ul-Aam

Someone has narrated an incident which took place inKutiyana (Gujarat, India), the ancestral village of Sag-e-Madna (author). There was a man in Kutiyana whohad great admiration for Ghau-ul-Aam . He usedto celebrate Giyrwn consistently. Another praiseworthy

trait of him was that he showed a great deal of respect toSayyids1. He used to be so kind and caring towards youngSayyids that he would pick them up, carry them around andwould buy them sweets.

When he passed away and was covered in a shroud, peoplecame to grieve but suddenly that true devotee of Ghau-ul-Aam removed his shroud and sat upright. People were scaredand were struck with panic. He cried out, Dont be scared, just listen to me! When people came closer he said, I tell youthe truth that just now my Murshid2, Shaykh Abd-ul-QdirJln honoured me with his presence and said,

Being my disciple you died without repenting! Get up and

Congratulations to the devotees and disciples of Ghau-ul-Aam because the Sultan of Baghdad has said, Mydisciple, no matter how sinful he is, will not die until he

    repents. (Bajat-ul-Asrr, p. 191)

    3. Hearts in the Fist

Shaykh Umar Bazr says, One Friday, I washeading towards the Masjid with Ghau-ul-Aam . Ithought this to be quite strange that whenever I go to theMasjid on Fridays with my Murshid, people gather around tosay Salm to him or to shake his hand and it becomes

extremely difficult to continue walking; but today, no one iseven paying attention (to him). As soon as this thought invokedin my mind, Ghau-ul-Aam looked at me with asmile.

Suddenly, people started rushing to shake hands with theSultan of Baghdad

. There were so many people that

a huge crowd interfered between me and my kind Murshid . Now I thought to myself it was much better before. As soon as it appeared in my mind, he said, O

    4. Help Me Ghau-ul-Aam

Shaykh Bishr Qar has stated that once, I was[travelling] with a business caravan along with 14 sugar loadedcamels. We all camped in a terrifying jungle during the night. In the first part of the night, four of my loaded camels got lost. They could not be found despite of my tireless efforts. The

caravan left without me. My cameleer also remained behindwith me.

The following morning, I recalled that my Murshid, Ghau-ul-Aam had once said to me, Whenever you are

afflicted with an adversity or worry, call on me. you will be relieved from that adversity. Therefore, I cried forhelp saying, O Shaykh Abd-ul-Qdir ! I have lostmy camels! Right away, I saw a saint, dressed in white clothes, standing upon a small hill towards the east. The saint gestured

and I started approaching him. As soon as I approached himalong with my cameleer, he disappeared. We began to lookaround in a surprised and confused state. All of a sudden, wesaw our four lost camels sitting at the bottom of the hill. Wecaught them and joined with the caravan.

Method ofal-tul-GhauiyyaWhen Shaykh Ab Al-assan Al Khabbz wastold about the incident of the lost camels, he said that I wastold by Shaykh Ab Al-Qsim and he informed methat he heard Shaykh Abd-ul-Qdir Jln saying:One who calls on me for my help in any adversity, he will besaved from it. One who calls on me in hardship, he will berelieved from his suffering. One who asks Allah anythingwith reference of my name, his need will be fulfilled.

The person who prays two Rakt Nafl al and in eachRakat recites Sra Ikhls 11 times after Sra Ftia andthen after paying Salm, he sends alt and Salm on the HolyProphet and then walks 11 steps towards theblessed city of Baghdad and calls out my name and asks for the

fulfilment of a need, his need will be fulfilled.(Bajat-ul-Asrr, p. 109)

Asking Help from Someone Other than Allah Dear Islamic brothers! After reading the above mentionedincidents, someone might think that we must only ask Allah

    7

for help and none other than Him because when Allah

has the ultimate power to help, why should we turn to

anyone else for help? This is a very dangerous trick of Satanwith which he has led many people astray. If Allah hasnot forbidden us as regard to asking help from others, how canone get the authority to forbid people from asking others forhelp! Look in the Holy Qurn where Allah has permitted

us, in various verses, to ask others for help. In fact, despiteHim being Omnipotent, He Himself has asked Hispeople for help. It is stated the Holy Qurn:

If you help the religion of Allah

    , He

    will help you.

(Muhammad: 07) (Kanzul mn [Translation of Quran])

Sayyidun s Asked for Help from Others

Sayyidun s asked his followers for help.It is stated in the Holy Qurn:

    s

    the son of Maryam

    had said to the

followers, Who will help me, inclining towards Allah ?

The followers said, We are the supporters of Allahs religion.

(af: 14) (Kanzul mn [Translation of Quran])

    Sayyidun Ms Asked for Support

from the PeopleWhen Sayyidun Ms was ordered to goto Firawn for preaching, he made the following entreaty toAllah asking for the help of a human being and requestedAllah :

And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family. That is

rn ( ), my brother. Back me up with him.(: 29-31) (Kanzul mn [Translation of Quran])

    Pious People Also Help

Allah has stated in another place:

Then indeed Allah is supporter; and Jibrl and thevirtuous believers are also his aides; and thereafter the angels are

    deputed for help.

(Tarm 66:4) (Kanzul mn [Translation of Quran])

Anr Means The HelpersDear Islamic brothers! Did you see? The Holy Qurn veryclearly announces that Allah is indeed the Helper, but by

    9

the grace of Allah , Jibrl and the People that areclose to Allah

    (the Prophets

    and the Saints

    )

and even the angels can help. , by now this SatanicWhisper that no-one can help except Allah should havebeen uprooted. An interesting fact is that the people whomigrated to Madna-tul-Munawwara from Makka-tul-Mukarrama are called Mujir (Immigrant companions) and

the believers who supported them are known as Anr (HelpingCompanions). Every sane person knows that the literal meaningof Anr is Helpers.

    Friends of Allah are Alive

It is possible for Satan to make someone think that it ispermissible to ask for help from someone alive but not whenthey have passed away. If you carefully study the following

verse and the proceeding topic, this evil thoughtwill be uprooted. It is stated:

And do not utter regarding those who are slain in Allahs cause as

dead; in fact they are alive, but it is you who are unaware.

(Baqara: 154) (Kanzul mn [Translation of Quran])

Prophets are AliveIf this is the attribute of the martyrs, then how can one cast adoubt about the fact that the Prophets , who are much

higher in status than the martyrs, are also alive! Shaykh ImmBayaq

has written a booklet about the life (ayt-

ul-Anbiy) of the Prophets and has written in Dalil-un-Nabwwa that Prophets are alive like the martyrsand are with Allah . (Al-v-lil-Fatw, pp. 263, Vol. 2)

    Saints are Alive

Shaykh Sh Walyull has stated about the highstatus of Ghau-ul-Aam in chapter 11 of amt. That he is Shaykh Muiyyuddn Abd-ul-Qdir Jln and he has the authority in his blessed grave likethe living (i.e. he is authoritative just like the living).Anyhow, the Prophets and the Saints arealive and we do not ask for help from the dead but from theones that are alive and we believe them to be helpers by thegrace of Allah . Without the bestowal of Allah , theProphet or Saint can neither give anything nor can he provideany sort of help.

    5. Ewer Turned Towards Qibla

Once, a group of Saints from Jln visited the blessed

court of Shaykh Ghau-ul-Aam and saw that hisewer (pot used for ablution) was not pointing towards the

Qibla (so they informed Ghau-ul-Aam aboutthis). He cast a wrathful glance at his servant whocould not bear the severity of the Shaykhs look andconsequently fell to the ground and trembled to death. Ghau-ul-Aam then looked towards the ewer and eweritself turned towards the Qibla. (Bajat-ul-Asrr, p. 101)

Keep the Ewer Facing Towards the Qibla

O devotees of the Sultan of Baghdad! Undoubtedly, love parexcellence is to follow each and every action of those we adoreand admire. Therefore, if possible, we should always keep theewer used for Wuu pointing towards the Qibla. Muaddi-

al-Aam Pakistan Mauln Sardr Amad Sahib used

to keep his ewer and his slippers facing the Qibla.

,I, Sag-e-Madna (author) make an ardent effort tofollow the footsteps cast by both of these Saints

bykeeping the ewer and the slippers facing the Qibla. Infect, Iwish to place everything facing the Qibla.

An Account Regarding the One Who SatFacing the Qibla

Dear Islamic brothers! If possible, we should also develop ahabit of facing the Qibla because there are many blessings ofdoing so. Shaykh Imm Burn-ud-Dn Ibrm Zarnj

reported: Two students travelled abroad to seekreligious knowledge. Both of them were in the same grade, when they returned home, one of them had become a veryknowledgeable religious jurist whereas the other remainedignorant.

The eminent scholars of the city began pondering over thereason. When careful observations of their ways of learning, manners of revision, conversation, manners of sitting etc. weretaken into account, they surprisingly came upon the fact thatthe student who returned as a religious jurist had a habit offacing the Qibla whenever he sat while the other student

always sat with his back towards the Qibla. Therefore, the respected scholars and jurists

unanimously agreed that the fortunate one has become a

scholar due to the blessings of facing the Qibla as it is Sunnato do so. (Talm-ul-Mutaallim, p. 68)

13 Madan Pearls to Sit Facing the Qibla

The Noble Prophet usually used to sitfacing the Qibla. (Iy-ul-Ulm, pp. 449, Vol. 2)

Three Ad of the Noble Prophet1. The best of all the gatherings is the one in which the

participants sit facing the Qibla. (Mujam Awsa, pp. 161, Vol.6, ad 8361)

    2. Everything has its dignity and sitting has the dignity infacing Qibla. (Mujam Kabr, pp. 320, vol. 10, ad 10781)

    3. Everything has supremacy and gatherings have thesupremacy to sit facing the Qibla. (Mujam Kabr, pp. 20, vol.2, ad 2354)

It is Sunna for Muballighn and educators to have theirbacks towards the Qibla so that the listeners (learners)can sit facing towards the Qibla. Hence, Shaykh fiSakhw says, The reason why the Mercifuland Generous Prophet had his blessedback towards the Qibla was to allow the attendants to

    face the Qibla. (Al-Maqid-ul-asana, p. 88)

Sayyidun Abdulla bin Umar often sat facingthe Qibla. (Al Adb al Mufrad, pp. 291, ad 137)

    15

While teaching the Noble Qurn, you should sit withyour back towards the Qibla with the intention offollowing the blessed Sunna. Dars-e-Nim teachersshould also do the same with the intention of Sunna andin order to let students face the Qibla. Educate studentsthe Sunna, philosophy and intention of sitting in thismanner and gain many rewards and blessings. Try to sit

facing the Qibla when you are not teaching.

Religious students should sit facing the Qibla so thatthey are also facing the teacher otherwise it might bedifficult for them to understand [the lesson].

It is Sunna for the Khatb to give the sermon with hisback towards the Qibla and it is desirable that the listenersface the Khatb.

When reciting the Holy Quran, reading religious books, writing Fatw, compiling and authoring books, supplicating, doing ikr, reciting alt and Salm, orgenerally whenever sitting down or standing, if there is no

religious hindrance, try to develop a habit to sit facing theQibla all the time and reap many rewards. (If you arewithin 45 degree of Qibla you will be considered asfacing the Qibla).

If possible, place the table, chair etc towards the Qibla sothat whenever you sit, you [automatically] face the Qibla.

If you just happen to sit facing the Qibla withoutintending to gain rewards then you will not be rewarded,

    16

therefore one should always make good intentions; forinstance: (1) gaining virtues for the afterlife, (2) followingthe Sunna, (3) I am facing the Kaba in its honour andreverence. When studying Islamic books and Islamiclessons you should include this intention as well that byacting upon the Sunna of facing the blessed Qibla, I will

receive the blessings of religious knowledge .

In many countries such as, Pakistan, India, Nepal etc, whenever one faces the Qibla, he also faces MadnaMunawwara [as they fall in the same direction]. Thereforethe intention of facing Madna Munawwara to payrespect should be included.

The summary of the statement of an Islamic brother is asfollows: A Sunna Inspiring Ijtima was held by Dawat-e-Islami

    on the occasion of 11th Rab-ul-Ghau, 1425 A.H. (2003).

During the Sunna Inspired bayn, the Baghdd Remedy wastold. After the Bayn, Islamic brothers were being initiatedinto the Saintly lineage of Silsila Qdiriyya, Razawyya.Suddenly, I felt drowsy. When my eyes were closed, I saw that
