Share our Strength is committed to ending childhood hunger, and Food Network is the perfect organization to help meet this goal. Through on-air, online, in-kind and financial giving, Food Network takes this mission seriously, and the numbers prove it.

• SNI’s food category partnered with Southern Wine & Spirits America, Food Bank for New York City, and Cipriani Wall Street® to host Our Table Is Yours, an event which provided meals to over 1,000 seniors and families affected by Hurricane Sandy.

• $25 million of value provided to Share our Strength and the No Kid Hungry Campaign.

• Food Network employees and viewers raised donations of more than $675,000, enough to connect hungry kids in America to more than 6.7 million meals.

Food Network and Share Our Strength kicked off a TV screening tour of Hunger Hits Home, with Food Network host, Sandra Lee. Hunger Hits Home takes a first-hand look at the crisis of childhood hunger in America through the eyes of the parents, children, activists, educators and politicians on the front lines of the battle. The documentary is part of an ongoing partnership between Food Network and Share Our Strength to end domestic childhood hunger by 2015. To watch the documentary, search “Hunger Hits Home” on FoodNetwork.com

Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), a member of the U.S. Senate Hunger Caucus and an advocate of increasing access to fresh, local foods, gets the credit for bringing a Good Food Garden to Cincinnati. Senator Brown joined Aarti Sequeira, winner of Food Network Star and host of Aarti’s Party, to plant more than 200 vegetables. Members of SNI’s Content Distribution and Marketing team took a break from a week of meetings in Miami and spent an

afternoon helping one of South Florida’s largest hunger-fighting organizations, Feeding South Florida. Scripps employees sorted and racked more than 7,000 pounds - 3 ½ tons - of donated food and toiletries.

In addition to the labor, the group also made a $1,500 donation.
