CAUGHT YOU BEING GOOD! During the month of February students were acknowledged by staff members for their positive student behaviors in our “Caught You Being Good” program. In this program “tickets” were given to students who were caught in the act of showing good character or demonstrating good behavior. P.I.I.E. Upcoming FUNDRAISER Donations Needed!!: SILENT AUCTION THEME BASKETS Each year the New Sarepta Ag. Society hosts the "Crooked Ice Jugspiel” which is a milk jug curling bonspiel. The Ag. Society generously allows P.I.I.E. to run a silent auction during the jug-spiel. For several years, the silent auction has been a major source of our fundraising income, enabling us to pay for bus-sing to skiing and swimming lessons and to bring in special events. To help ensure a successful auction, we ask each classroom to collect donations of either cash or items for a "theme basket" please bring all donations to school by Friday March 15. Below is a list of this year’s themes for each class: Kindergarten (both classes) Easter Basket Gr. 1K Baking Gr. 1H Camping Basket Gr. 2H Beach day Basket Gr. 2B Mothers Day Basket Gr. 3HL Fathers day Basket Gr. 3Hi BBQ Basket Gr. 4B Coffee/Tea Basket Gr. 4Q Spa Basket Gr. 5E Junk Food Gr. 5H Pet Basket Gr. 6J & 6P Gift Card Basket While we encourage everyone to get involved, participation in this fundraiser is, as always, voluntary. The theme baskets are just one aspect of the auction. We also approach businesses for donations of cash, services or prod-ucts. In the past we have had bicycles, airline tickets and Oilers tickets donated. These larger items really help to draw interest and increase bidding. If you know of a company or individu-al who would like to donate something for our Silent Auc-tion, please use the corporate sponsor letter found in this newsletter to ask for donations. More copies of this letter can be obtained through the school office or from any school council executive member. On our upcoming visit to Salem Manor in Leduc, March 17, we will be taking part in various activities like reading, sharing photo albums, playing board games, doing crafts, singing songs, dancing St. Patrick Day jigs, and just talking with the seniors. PIIE: Partners Involved in Education

20th Annual Silent Auction Fundraiser

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

January 2019

Dear Potential Sponsor of New Sarepta Elementary School,

I am the Fundraising Coordinator for the New Sarepta Elementary School’s parent volunteer

group, Partners Involved in Education (PIIE). We are planning an upcoming Silent Auction to

be held March 30, 2019 and would love it we could have your support.

For the past 20 years we have been invited to run this silent auction in conjunction with our

local Agricultural Society’s Jugspeil Event at the New Sarepta Agriplex. This event draws in

quite a few spectators and participants!! This year our goal is to raise over $5000, and with

your help, I believe we can!!

We are a small school with approximately 270 students and this fundraising event really helps

us provide the children with opportunities they may otherwise not have. Funds raised support

extra activities and events (tract meets/ skiing/ swimming), music and art activities, field

trips within Alberta and to purchase upgraded technology for the children.

Please consider supporting our event by donating gift certificates, merchandise or services.

In exchange, you will receive some excellent community exposure and advertising. Your

company name, address and phone number will be included in the description of item on the day

of the event. A letter of acknowledgement, which will serve as a tax receipt, will be issued to

you after the event. If you or your company cannot donate an item, please consider

forwarding this letter to others you may think would be able to help. It would mean the world

to us and greatly benefit the children of New Sarepta Elementary School!!

It is through the generous support of our community and surrounding areas that PIIE is able

to fulfill its mission to raise funds to help give the students that extra step to make their

school years both memorable and educational. New Sarepta considers Beaumont, Leduc,

Sherwood Park and Camrose their prime locations to bring our business, so we really hope you

can support ours in return.

Thank you for your consideration, I look forward to hearing from you. Feel free to

contact me at [email protected] or 780-919-2022 if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Noelle MacLean
