The activities set by your teacher are here.

The activities which the site thinks you should complete are here.

Every so often you complete the Mastery

Challenge which is a

hard exercise that grills

you on everything you

have learnt and also a

few harder things you

haven’t, however you

can skip these questions

by pressing the ‘I haven’t learnt this yet!’

button.

The more points you get, the quicker you go up a level.

The harder the activity, the more points you get.

The ‘Math Pretest’ is something you do to test what level of maths you are at.

The question is here. If you are confused you

can watch the video lesson which teaches you what to do.

You can also get hints which show you how to work out the question.

If you get more than 5 questions right in a row, you get extra points.

Write your answer here.

You can see how each

student is doing and

what level of progress

they are on. If a student is struggling

you can see it and choose specific work

for them. The next day

at school a teacher can also help the student.

You can set work for

each student. Look at

the recommended tasks for a student which have been advised from their skill

progress. It is easy to

set a due date and time.

has been spending time on. You can see

what videos they have

watched, what tasks

they have completed,

how much time they

have spent on Khan Academy and how much help they needed.

This is the activity of one pupil (in a class of two.) You can see that Pupil 1 (turquoise) has earned many energy points and is doing many extra activities. Then look at Pupil 2 (dark blue.) Pupil 2 is struggling, however the red line on the graph shows their progress during their time on Khan Academy. You can easily see where the pupil begins to understand and earns their first badge and energy points.

Khan Academy can easily show a teacher the progress of their students; which exercises they found easiest and what they are struggling with.

Page 21: Khan academy presentation final

Badges are available

for different topics. They are fun to achieve and students

will want to earn them.In

Khan Academy is mainly

a maths based site, however they are extending the subject

matter to many other

key subjects (such as

humanities and sciences), with new videos – and hopefully

soon some new lessons!

Salman Khan set up a

YouTube channel to help his niece revise

some maths for a exam. Soon, his videos

were so helpful to many people that he

decided to create a website to help everyone all over the

world.

The Swiss Cheese Concept”

Teachers will teach a topic,

but when most people have

understood, they will move

on. However, there will be a

few people that don’t

understand, and there will

always be a gap in their

knowledge and they might

not understand things

afterwards. Khan Academy

can help pupils fully grasp

the concept before moving

on to another topic.

In America , many schools

use Khan Academy as a

maths homework tool,

teachers set work and

students do it, working at

their own pace and using

hints and watching videos

for help. Teachers can see

their progress and what

extra help they needed,

and then focus on things

the next day in class,

instead of rushing ahead.

Poin

Good BadThere are no complications after signing up.

You need a Gmail or Facebook account to sign up.

Your teacher can set you homework and lessons you should learn, and also set a due date.

There is no ‘notepad’ on the screen when doing activities, so you might need a separate piece of pen and paper.

A teacher can see a chart on their students progress.

It is mainly focused on maths.

There are many levels and lessons.

It is easy to add a teacher or pupil to a class.

A teacher can control many classes at once.

Pupils will have the chance to fully understand a concept before the teacher moves on in class.

on Overall, Khan

Academy is a friendly,

easy site to use for helping with maths as

it contains many different topics and lessons to help you learn.
