Talk of “new” financial metrics that more accurately depict profitability and organizational health reflects a once stoic industry’s still-ongoing adjustment to the new realities of modern business – a vista forged upon transparency, accountability, and quantifiable success. Data, when leveraged properly, is at the core of any financial analysis. But when firms fail to properly interpret their own metrics, skewed (if inaccurate) conclusions ensue. This presentation offers a rare case study on how law firms can properly assess their in-house data for a more reliable portrait of profitability.

But if one were to objectively assess true innovation across the profession, what revelations – or sobering fallacies – might come to light in the eye of the beholder?
