1.4.1 Structured feedback received for design and review of syllabus yearwise from-

1.Students-

FEEDBACK ON CURRICULUM (SCIENCE UNDERGRADUATE, 2014-15)

1. Quality of the curriculum was considered very good by 31.25%, Good by 42.42% and satisfactory by

24.24%.

2. All most all the students consider that curriculum is sufficient.

3. The relation of curriculum to real life was rated very good by 15.15%, good by 45.45% and satisfactory

by 33.3%.

4. Curriculum was considered valuable by all the students.

5. Availability of resources regarding curriculum in library was considered good by 18.18% of the

student’s only 36.36% students are satisfied and about 36.36% are not satisfied.

6. Curriculum was considered beneficial by 87% and not beneficial by 12.12%

7. Curriculum was found easy by 24.24%, moderate by 54.54%, Tough by 18.18% and very tough by

3.03%.

8. 21.21% students marked that 80-100% syllabus was completed 54.54% students marked that at least

70-80% syllabus was completed. According to 18.18% students, 55.70% syllabus was completed and

(Under Graduate)

Quality of curriculum was considered very good by 32% of the students, good by 39%,

satisfactory by 26% and only 3% students are not satisfied.

70% of the students rated sufficient by the students. 30% have rated satisfactory.

54% students have marked that curriculum is related to real life and has application part 46%

students have marked satisfactory.

Curriculum is considered valuable by almost all the students.

Availability of resources related to curriculum was rated good by 38% of the students, 28%

students rated satisfactory and 13% students are not satisfied with the resource availability.

Curriculum was found beneficial by 72% of the students.

Curriculum was considered easy by 18% of the students, moderate by 54%, tough by 6% of

the students and 22% considered it very tough.

Only 12% of the students marked that 80-100% syllabus was completed, 36% marked 70-

80%, 23% marked 55-70% and 29% marked that less than 55% syllabus was completed.

Library resources was found sufficient by 43% of the students, not sufficient by 34%, very

less by 23% of the students.

Suggestions

Library need to strengthen.

Course completion should be monitored.

Contents should be generalize.

Quality of curriculum was considered very good by 35% and good by 34%, satisfactory by

26% and not satisfactory by 5%.

Curriculum was considered sufficient by 57% of the students good by 28%, satisfactory by

11% and not satisfactory by 4%.

Relation of syllabus with real life was rated very good by 42%, Good by 42% satisfactory by

14% and not satisfactory 2%.

Curriculum was considered valuable by 84% of the students and 16% of the students are not

satisfied.

Availability of other resources was rated very good by 85% of the students.

Curriculum was considered beneficial by 84% of the students, 16% of the students are not

satisfied.

Curriculum was considered easy by 28%, moderate by 42%, tough by 28% and very tough

by 2%.

According to 14% of the students 80-100% syllabus was completed, 70-80% was marked by

71% of the students, 55-70% was marked by 14% and less than 55% by 1% of the students.

Library resources regarding curriculum was rated sufficient by 85% of the students,

insufficient by 16%.

Suggestions

Content should be made easy by teachers by having their explanation skills.

Teachers are encouraged for refresher and short term causes.

Feedback on Curriculum (2016-17)

(Undergraduate Science)

The clarity and relatedness of the materials regarding curriculum was considered very good

by 57% of the students & good by 42% of the students.

Efforts done as per the need of students was considered good by 57% and satisfactory by

42% of students.

Availability of required resources for learning was easily obtained by 42% of the student's,

with difficulty by 57% of the students.

Teachers preparation for the clays was considered very good by 16% of the students,

satisfactory by 28%, not satisfactory by 56% of the students.

15% students consider that teachers are always effective in explaining the concept, rated

sometimes by 14%, moderate by 70% of the students.

71% students marked that teachers always encourage them to attend class, sometimes by

28% of the students.

57% of the students marked that group discussion method was used and 42% students

considered questioning skill.

Teachers are considered very effective in counseling by 50% of the students, sometime

effective by 16%, moderate by 33% and marked never by 16%.

Teachers behaviour was considered cordial by 65%, sometimes get angry by 7%.

Internal evaluation was considered always fair by 75%, sometimes unfair by 14%, always

unfair by 1% and sometimes fair by 10% of the students.

Learning resources to be made assessable to students.

Curriculum is considered sufficient by 44.44% only.

Only 41.11% of students confident that Curriculum is related to day to day life.

Availability of other resources related to Curriculum is found satisfactory by 21.11% only.

Curriculum is found sufficient by 76.67% of the students.

71.11% students consider Curriculum as interesting.

About 70% of the Curriculum was completed in the session.

Availability of resources related to Curriculum is not sufficient in the library.

SUGGESTION-

-Library to be enriched, availability of e- books in the library is to be ensured.

-Curriculum should be updated.

PG (M.Ed) CURRICULUM

Only 27.78% student consider curriculum as related to daily life. Only 44.44% students consider that

curriculum is sufficient. Availability of other resources was not found satisfactory by students. About

88.89% students are not satisfied with the resources available. Curriculum was completed less than 55%

(72.72% students are not satisfied) 50% of the students consider curriculum as tough, only 61.11% students

consider curriculum as beneficial.

Non availability of books as per new syllabus.

SUGGESTIONS

At least two days in a week should be allotted for book issue .

Two books should be issued.

Number of books to be enhanced in central and departmental libraries.

ARTS CURRICULUM (UG LEVEL)

Content of the curriculum was rated good by 61% of the students.

About 51% to 75% of the students consider curriculum as sufficient.

About 45% of the student consider curriculum that it is related to day to day life.

Curriculum is beneficial for the student 76% students are satisfied.

Curriculum was consider easy by only 52% of the students.

Curriculum was not completed fully, only 47% of the students consider that curriculum is covered 70-

80%.

YEAR 2014-2015

CURRICULUM- SCIENCE

About 60% of post graduate students consider that curriculum is related to real life and is valuable.

80% of the students are satisfied with the availability of other resources related to curriculum.

About 70% of the students consider curriculum as interesting.

Curriculum is found beneficial by 60% of the students only 5% are not satisfied.

About 10% students consider curriculum easy to understand only 70% consider it tough other 10%

consider it very tough.

About 60% of the student consider that about 80 to 100% syllabus was completed and 40% consider that

about 70-80% syllabus was covered.

Library resources was found sufficient by 70% of the students 30% students are not satisfied.

SUGGESTIONS

Efforts should be made for 100% syllabus completion during the session.

Library resources to be enriched.

Application contents should be more.

ACTION TAKEN

Books have been added in central and PG departmental libraries.

Teachers are motivated for syllabus completion and are regularly monitored by heads of the department.

About 84% students are satisfied with the syllabus completion.

About 60% students feels that curriculum is related to real life or having application in day to day life and

32% consider it excellent. 8% student are satisfied.

Additional sources regarding curriculum was found satisfactory by 95% of the students.

92% students consider curriculum as beneficial.

Curriculum was considered easy by 88% of the students.

Only 24% of the students consider that 80.10% of the syllabus was covered and about 40% of the students

feels that 70-80% syllabus was covered. According to 36% students 55-70% of syllabus was completed.

About 72% of the students rated availability of books in library as good.

SUGGESTIONS

Efforts should be made for 100%, completion of syllabus.

Library should be more enriched as per the syllabus.

PG (SCIENCE) 2016-2017

Quality of the curriculum was considered good by 100% of the students.

83% of the students rated syllabus as sufficient.

Only 50% of the students found that curriculum is related to life and is applicable in day to day life.

Availability of other resources was rated very good and good by 66% and 33% respectively.

Syllabus was found to be interesting and very good by 83% of the students.

Syllabus was considered beneficial by 66% of the students.

82% students found syllabus interesting. Syllabus was considered completed by about 80-100%, by 33%

students only. 50% of students have marked that 70-80% of the syllabus was completed and 55-70% by

17% of the students.

83% students have marked availability of books in the library as good. 16% students are not satisfied with

the library resources.

by 50% of the students.

by 7.14% and 14.28% students are not satisfied.

satisfactory by 21.42% and 28.57 are not satisfied.

8. 64.28% students considered that less than 55% of the curriculum content was taught in the class.

According to 28.57% students, 55 to 77% syllabus was completed and only 7.14% rate syllabus

completion up to 80-100%.

77.77% consider that syllabus intellectualy stimulates the child and 22.22% consider it’s not. 88.88 % feels

that curriculum is need based and fulfilled their academic and professional demand only 11.11% negate

this. 77.77 %parents are satisfied with the learning outcome and 22.22 % deny. 83.16% consider it as

according to modern trend and 13.33% consider it follows old pattern. 83.33 % marked that curriculum

encouraged their child to opt for other resources and only 16.66 % consider it needs improvement.58.33%

parents feel that curriculum doesnot require revision but 42 % demand syllabus revision. Only 27.77%

parents interacted with teachers on syllabus and 72.22 % doesn’t approach. 85.18 % are satisfied that their

children are getting technologically skilled. 70.37 % are assured that syllabus will provide job opportunity

and only 29 % are not sure.96 % parents think that syllabus inculcates human values and only 4 % deny it.

RECOMMENDATION-

1.Contents to be added in syllabus which intellectualy stimulates students.Standard of topics of projects

can be raised.

2.Frequent PTA meetings can be organized to enhance interaction of parents with teachers.

3.Parents should be acquainted with the program outcomes and learning outcomes.

4.Syllabus should be made more needful for students by inculcating modern trends.

Syllabus revision was carried out at PG level in some programmes and at UG level unified syllabus is

level of their children and 22.22% are not satisfied.Inculcation of modern trends in curriculum was

considered satisfactory by 82.22% of the parents.73.33% appreciated that their children search for other

resources.Most of the parents felt that syllabus should be revised.Only 22.22% parents interacted with

teachers.80% parents marked that curriculum helped their children in learning technology.Employability of

1.Employability aspect should be more in syllabus.

fulfilled their academic and professional demand by 64.51% and 35.48%.parents are not satisfied. Learning

objectives was marked satisfactory by 83.87% of the parents.Parents are satisfied with the knowledge level

of their child.27.41% parents are not satisfied with the inclusion of modern trends in the curriculum.

Students approach towards other sources related to syllabus was considered satisfactory by 67.74%

parents and 32.25% felt that students should be more encouraged.Only 56.45% observed that students are

getting technicaly skilled and 43.54% parents are not satisfied. Syllabus is considered relevant for job by

the parents.90.32% parents felt that syllabus inculcates human values among students.

Syllabus intellectualy stimulates the child,76.92% parents have given consent on this and 23.07% were of

opinion that contents to be added to stimulate the students.Most of the parents agree that curriculum is

need based and as per demand.73.07% parents are satisfied with the learning out comes of the objectives

and 26.92% are not clear with the objectives.Almost 88.46% parents are satisfied with the knowledge of

their children.69.23% parents think syllabus is as per modern trends and 30.76% negate it.Parents are

satisfied that their children are approaching other people and resources for their content.Parents need to

consult teachers regarding curriculum. Good percentage of parents think that their children are

technologicaly skilled.92.30% parents marked that curriculum is relevant for job and inculcates human

values.

RECOMMENDATIONS-

1.To achieve the learning outcomes more programmes,short term courses should be offered.

2.Parents should be frequently interacted to get their suggestions.

ACTION TAKEN-

1.Many programmes has been organized like Digital literacy,Career counseling,personality

development,Disaster management etc.

2.Parents are often consultated regarding academic problem of their children,any disciplinary case,medical

cases etc.

OBSERVATIONS-

Approximately 66.66% teachers observed that syllabus intellectualy stimulates their children and it is need

based.About 63.63% parents are satisfied with the learning outcome and 36.66% are not clear about the

objectives. More that 83% parents are satisfied with the knowledge level of their children.86.66% parents

think that curriculum is as per modern trends and 91.66% are satisfied with the way students approach

other resources for their content.21.66% marked that syllabus should be revised. Most of the parents

have discussed the relevance of the curriculum with teachers.More than 86% parents think yhat syllabus is

making their children technically skilled.95% parents marked that syllabus inculcates human values.

RECOMMENDATIONS-

1.Changes to be inculcated in syllabus as per modern trends and to intellectualy stimulate child.

ACTION-

1.Syllabus revision done in most of the courses at PG level.In some programmes new syllabus adopted as

per change.

OBSERVATION-

More than 85% of the respondent sagreed that the current syllabi is easy to understand and

14.28% consider it tough.It gave them a clear picture of the purpose of the course,and the

syllabi also fulfilled their objectives after the completion of the course.They also felt that the

content of the syllabi had developed knowledge and interest in them. They also found that

the curriculum was useful at workplace.About 71.42% responded positively they felt it was

pleasantly challenging,and about 89.28% said that they had easy access to

prescribed/refrence books.Where as 73.80% respondent opined that the curriculum was

skilled based. About 83.33% marked that curriculum helped in the development of

personality.

RECOMMENDATIONS-

1.Application part in the syllabus should be increased.

2.Modern trends in the curriculum should be adopted which will aid in skill development.

3.Management courses started.

OBSERVATION-

About 76.92% consider that syllabus was easy to understand and 23.07% found it

tough.More than 89% gained knowledge which is helpful to them.92.30% were satisfied

with the applied aspect of the syllabus.It was considered interesting to pusue post-

graduation/Research.Relevancy of the content for jobs was confirmed by 95.38% of the

students.89.23% marked that syllabus helped in developing personality.Only 61.53% feels

that it was easy to access refrence books and about 38.46% faced problem.Educational

objectives were clear to only 69.23% and 30.76 were not clear about the learning/educational

objectives.About 73.84% consider that syllabus is skilled based and 26.15% negates it.

RECOMMENDATIONS-

1.Educational objectives should be made clear to students.Teachers in their classrooms

should start the lecture by stating objectives and apprising students about the outcome.

2.Curriculum should be skilled based, more short term courses can be offered.

ACTION TAKEN-

1.Certain skilled based activities like computer literacy,Dissertatio,internship etc were added.

2.Three month course on Financial management and Communicative English was offered.

knowledgeable by more than 91% About 90.27% considered that syllabus created

1.Library facility should be improved.Latest books should be added and should be accessible

to students.

About 90.90% found curriculum knowledgeable and easy to understand. More than 72%

consider that syllabus created interest in pursuing higher studies.80% were satisfied with the

application part and is applicable to practical life. Subjects taught were considered relevant

to job and future aspiration by87.27% More than 78% said that syllabus helped in

developing personality and 21.81% denied. Educational objectives were clear and syllabus

was considered skilled based by 63.63% only and 36. 36% said it need improvement.

RECOMMENDATION-

1. Students should be encouraged to pursue higher studies by making the contents interesting

and explain its relevance to employability.

2.Emphasis on skill based education.
