Haven’t hit your goals?

Kevin Abdulrahman reflects on how with the simple quality of persistence one can develop new winning habits.

Have you ever attempted to achieve a series of goals, part of a new years resolution, or a birthday resolution, and inherently crashed and burned?

If you have, don’t feel bad about it- all of us have had that experience.

However, a small percentage of people have not only achieved their set goals but surpassed them. You see, most people know what they need to do. There is no shortage of know how. But new results means that new habits need to be formed, which means change. And humans are inherently reluctant to change. We all love living in the comfort of the zones we have, the monotonous routines, from placing our tooth brush in a certain place so we can reach out to it in the morning without opening our eyes, to in some cases parking the car in a certain way in the garage.

When it comes to change, and want-ing to achieve the goals and results, many start feeling overwhlemed. They get anxious because they are having to change numerous aspects of their life to accommodate for their new goals. This puts pressure on them, and they begin to stress out. As we all have experi-enced it, within a couple of months, if not weeks, days or hours, people revert back to their original behaviour.

Just like last year, this year and the next, days will come and go, and many will still be in the same place not having hit their goals and feeling what has be-come all too common - frustrated.

What can you do to start making and seeing positive change in achieving your goals? The results in your life is a reflec-tion of the quality of your mind and the actions you take on a consistent basis. You need to work on developing new hab-its. Your habits being your daily actions. The actions you take consistently on a continuous basis without giving it much thought. And these habits need to be ones that serve you, i.e. Winning Habits.

So in relation to the goals you would like to achieve, begin by writing out a list of 12 Winning Habits you would like to develop. It could be anything from re-searching about the business you would like to start, further developing an exist-ing business, spending half an hour a day developing your mind, waking up 30 minutes early everyday, going for a run in the evenings, anything that you feel constitutes the winning habits you need to develop in order to achieve the results you are seeking.

Good intentions remain for many people just that, good intentions. What matters is Results. Before you go to mak-ing the mistake most people make, let me share with you this one tip that will make all the difference in your results, and that is, doing it all in one hit.

To ensure you develop a new habit, here’s an effective way to go on de-veloping it. Focus on one new habit for this month. Choose one Winning Habit which you can consciously apply and put to work this month. Choose to have one winning habit have replacing an old habit. Do it for thirty days, and when you start doing so, you will be consciously aware and required to focus in ensuring you take the positive action you have chosen to take in order for it to develop into a habit.

Even if you feel you are far more ca-pable, I urge you to focus on just one. It’s much preferable that you develop one Winning Habit with certainty than aim to adopt a hundred new habits and lack the intensity and perseverance you can exhibit on one.

Having spent a month taking an ac-tion consciously, it will become a part of you. It will be a winning habit that you have developed, something you do with-out thinking - your subconscious mind will have been trained to attend to it as part of a decision to achieve your goals.

When it becomes a habit, you no longer are conscious of it. A habit is in essence an action you do repeatedly without giving much conscious thought about.

Now for month two, take on another winning action, and work on that single action consciously for the entire month to the point where it becomes another win-ning habit. You have now developed two winning habits by the end of month two, actions that you really don’t have to think about, actions that you can take with ease because you had already made the deci-sion and worked through the challeng-ing conscious part at the start.

Off you go to month three and so on. Through the months you will be devel-

oping winning habits, all without being stressed or overwhelmed - it’s only one habit a month you are focussing on.

Stick to developing one new habit at a time, but take action consistently, and I guarantee that you will be a different person in 12 months from now. Why?

Because at the end of twelve months you will be a person who has 12 winning habits (that you didn’t have when you started today!). These are actions you are taking consistently and are doing so sub-consciously. And since your results are a reflection of the actions you take continu-ally, the formula requires for your results to change- 100 per cent of the time. What I am sharing with you is a strategic win-ning tip that belongs to a game of certain-ty, not a game of chance.

In 12 months, you will have become a different person, taking different win-ning actions and attaining the winning results you desire. But for now, set your goals and pick the 12 winning habits you know you must develop. Start on the first one today.

Now is a great time to start. I look forward to hearing your winning sto-ries. Always remember it’s your Win-ning Habits that will bring you your Winning Results.

Have a Winning Month.
