The Malaysian Pepper Industry Bulletin, published biannually by Malaysian Pepper Board is presently in its 36th year of publication. Prepared for the benefit of its individuals and organizations involved with the pepper industry, the bulletin which focuses on review of developments in the pepper industry, currently enjoys a circulation in excess of 1,000 copies per issue. Starting this year, all the articles in this bulletin are published in two languages, namely English Language and the Malay Language. It is our intention to continually improve the quality of this publication so as to enhance its usefulness. Towards this end, we welcome suggestions and contribution of articles from our readers. All contributed articles, if published will be duly acknowledged.

Malaysian Pepper Board participated in the 8th Malaysian International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Kuala Lumpur from 6 - 9 April 2011. This annual event was launched by Honourable Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob. About 385 exhibitors from 28 countries around the world such as China, Iran, Indonesia, Belgium, France, Turkey, Singapore, India and Japan took part in this exhibition.

The objectives of MPB’s participation are to increase pepper consumption through promoting Malaysian pepper which is a Halal certified product locally and internationally, and at the same time to capture international market trade. During the exhibition, some of the products showcased were halal consumables such as frozen food, confectioneries, herbal products, poultry & dairy products, ready to eat meal and pharmaceutical products. Besides that, there were also non-food products such as toiletries, perfumeries and cosmetics. Land services was also promoted by financial institutions involved in Islamic Banking.

MPB had actively participated in MIHAS event for the past few years and is no stranger among the exhibitors. Visitors turned up at MPB’s booth to enquire about pepper processing and also to buy pepper products. The participation of MPB in MIHAS 2011 is indeed a useful venture in which MPB kept itself abreast with the latest development in consumer preferences and new technologies available.

International Organization of Spice Trading Association or IOSTA is a professional non-profit organization established to conduct forums to the industry representatives to discuss issues of common interests. Its memberships include spice associations around the globe whose members meet regularly to discuss issues relevant to the spice industry.

IOSTA’s mission is to bring together spice organizations around the globe to address common issues and seek sensible solutions to ensure the sustainability of the spice industry. With this mission in mind, IOSTA represents the industry’s interests and international spice trade to the authorities at the national and international level as well as promoting consensus among members of the organization on all matters pertaining to the industry and spice trade. Apart from that, it has also been tasked to collect, review and disseminate related data in smoothing the achievement of IOSTA’s objectives. IOSTA is also given the status as International Non-Government Observer with codex.

The main objective of IOSTA is to address issues regarding production, processing, food safety and seek sensible solutions to ensure the sustainability of the world spice industry. IOSTA’s membership is divided into two categories i.e. full membership and associate membership. The full membership is limited only to national and international spice associations and relevant entities who are involved in production, processing, treatment, sales, promotion, spice export and import. As for the associate membership, it is open to associations who do not have voting power but are eligible to contribute inputs to the issues discussed. Request for new memberships for either full or associate membership must be approved by the existing members. There is no fee imposed to become a member.

INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF

IOSTA’s secretariat is located in the office of American Spice Trade Association or better known as ASTA. The secretariat is responsible to handle correspondences, IOSTA routine works, disseminate information among its members and coordinating meetings. The chairmanship is rotated among its members every two years. Meetings are held biennially or when necessary and if possible, concurrent with other spice events such as IPC and ASTA meetings, etc.

TRANSFER OFTECHNOLOGY SESSION

Layer cake or Kek Lapis, which is a famously known local food product from Sarawak, comes in various forms, designs and even flavours. It can easily be purchased from local cake houses not just in Sarawak but also in West Malaysia. The layer cake industry especially in Sarawak is quite saturated as the product is sold abundantly at tourist spots at attractive prices. Nevertheless, in order to survive the stiff competition in the local layer cake market, manufacturers themselves must be bold and creative in diversifying their product range as to provide more options to the ever-changing customers.

MPB’s Product Development Unit held a Transfer of Technology (TOT) session on 24 May 2011 as requested by Diwannie Cake House on the making of “Pepper Flavoured Layer Cake”. The product itself was suggested by Diwannie Cake House Sales Manager, Muhamad Halil bin Abdul Manaf to Malaysian Pepper Board during MICCOS 2009 whereby MPB Product Development Unit was given the task to jump-start the development of the mentioned product. The main objectives of the session are to transfer the product know-how to Diwannie Cake House and to promote the usage of pepper in food products apart from its seasoning application.

Diwannie Cake House represented by Mr. Muhamad Halil bin Abd. Manaf and Mdm. Zoraidah bt. Haji Leen were briefed on the main ingredients of the Pepper Flavoured Layer Cake. Thereafter, Mdm. Jacqueline Wenceslaus of MPB demonstrated the making of the product starting from mixing and layering of the cake before steaming or baking. Steaming or baking of the pepper flavoured layer cake is to provide an option to Diwannie Cake House on the varieties of process that suits their customers’ taste. Diwannie Cake House admitted that even though they were more familiar with the taste of layer cakes produced by steaming process, they agreed with MPB’s Product Development Unit that the baked pepper flavoured layer cake produces better taste and aroma. Nevertheless, both sides further commented that both types of cake (steaming and baking process) can still be further improved by adding other cooling flavours such as mint, etc.

Discussion on the product was also focused on the product costing and raw material availability such as the dehydrated green pepper which is the main flavour of the cake. Diwannie Cake House was informed that the dehydrated green pepper powder can be produced by dehydrating green pepper in brine which can be purchased from the main supplier based at Demak Laut, Sarawak.

As a conclusion, the session was able to transfer the making of the “Pepper Flavoured Layer Cake” to Diwannie Cake House whereby the product can also be added to their existing list of layer cakes products. Through proper promotional activities and aggressive marketing by Diwannie Cake House, the “Pepper Flavoured Layer Cake” is expected to be a major hit among tourists or even locals especially amongst those who prefer savoury cakes.

LOCAL MARKET

The first half of 2011 witnessed a bullish pepper market as supplies were again difficult to obtain. The black pepper, opening at RM12,150/tonne in early January

soared higher to close at RM13,580/tonne in late June. There was a slight decline in black pepper prices in the middle of February due to lack of interest from overseas

buyers compounded with the Lunar New Year celebration. However, in March, pepper prices started to increase in tandem with the global market sentiment. This was also

influenced by a good domestic buying support and an increasing demand particularly from the food processing industries.

For white pepper, the price was registered at RM19,500/tonne in early January. Low availability of white pepper in the market had pushed the prices up as traders refused to commit to any contracts at the moment and only released a small quantity to traditional buyers. The price for white pepper quoted higher at RM22,250/tonne in late June. In the first half of 2011, Malaysia exported a total of 6,193 tonnes of pepper.

OVERSEAS MARKET

The overseas black pepper market was quiet at the commencement of 2011 coupled with the Lunar New Year celebration in the main producing countries. India was in the midst of harvesting and most of its harvest were absorbed for internal consumptions. In March, all eyes were on the arrival of the Vietnamese new crops. Demand for Vietnam pepper were seen coming from these main importing countries such as China, Middle East, Far East and Europe but farmers there were said to be financially strong and were not influenced by the current situation, thus forced local traders to mark up prices to accumulate stocks. Report on low stocks in the market due to restricted supply had boosted the prices up in most origins. In Indonesia, business transacted was relatively limited as market remained inactive until the new crop arrivals somewhere in July/August. Black pepper market eased in the middle of May on light trading as most buyers were well covered for their immediate needs. Others were switching to ‘wait and see’ mode in expectation of further decline in prices. India, Lampung and Vietnam started to lower down their prices following a lack of demand from overseas buyers. However, this eased market was only a temporary phenomenon as speculation on the shortfall in the availability of Indonesia and Sri Lanka’s new crops had strengthened the pepper market in June. Black pepper price opened at US$5,400/tonne C&F New York in early January and moved steadily upwards to close relatively higher at US$6,725/tonne C&F New York by the end of June.

For white pepper, the opening price was quoted at US$3,650/tonne C&F Rotterdam in early January and strengthened further to close the first half relatively higher at US$3,900/tonne C&F Rotterdam. The bullish market was mainly driven by the tight supply position in most origins and the consistent demand from end users.

MARKET OuTLOOK

With the arrivals of Indonesia new crop in July/August and the onset of Brazil’s new crop in September/October, pepper market is likely to weaken in the next coming months. Buyers are again expected to remain on the sidelines and speculating to press the origins for further decline in prices.

Bersempena dengan Mesyuarat Lembaga MPB Bil. 1 Tahun 2011 yang telah diadakan di Johor Bahru pada 9 - 10 Mac 2011, satu lawatan telah dibuat ke kebun lada milik En. Seow Chee Lian di Bukit Saga, Sg. Rengit, Johor. Lawatan ini telah disertai oleh pengerusi Lembaga Lada Malaysia (MPB), YB Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, ahli-ahli lembaga pengarah, pengarah-pengarah, penolong pengarah dan pegawai-pegawai MPB.

Menurut En. Seow Chee Lian, kebun seluas 40 ekar yang diusahakan oleh beliau telah ditanam dengan 10,000 pokok lada yang terdiri daripada pelbagai varieti seperti Kuching, Semonggok Perak dan Semonggok Aman. Beliau mempraktikkan penyelenggaraan tanaman lada secara organik dan menggunakan pokok hidup seperti pokok dedap dan Gliricidia sebagai tiang sokongan.

Menurutnya lagi, racun kimia tidak digunakan untuk aktiviti kawalan rumpai, serangga dan penyakit. Beliau hanya menggunakan produk dan baja organik dalam aktiviti penyelanggaraan kebun. Baja kimia hanya digunakan sebagai tambahan kepada unsur-unsur Nitrogen (N) dan Potassium (K). Lapan puluh peratus (80%) daripada baja yang digunakan adalah baja organik. Pengetahuan beliau berkaitan teknik dan kaedah penggunaan baja organik telah banyak membantu beliau dalam meningkatkan kuantiti dan kualiti hasil tuaian.

En. Seow menerima cendera-hati daripada MPB yang disampaikan oleh Tuan

Pengerusi sebagai tanda penghargaan dan

kenang-kenangan.

Bagi melaksanakan kerja-kerja penyelengga-raan kebun, beliau mengupah lima orang pekerja asing dengan bayaran upah sebanyak RM30.00 sehari. Semasa musim menuai pula, beliau terpaksa mencari pekerja tambahan seramai sepuluh orang dengan bayaran upah RM1.00/kilogram. Kebanyakan hasil pengeluaran dijual sebagai lada hijau dengan purata harga RM3.60/kilogram. Lada putih dan lada hitam pula dijual dengan purata harga RM25.00/kilorgram dan RM 15.00/kilogram masing-masing. Pada tahun 2010, beliau telah berjaya menghasilkan 25 tan lada hijau, 5 tan lada putih dan 4 tan lada hitam.

Hasil pengeluaran lada hijau dijual terus kepada pengeksport di Johor bagi memenuhi permintaan dari negara India dan Perancis, manakala, lada putih dan lada hitam dijual terus kepada pengiat industri makanan di Johor. MPB telah menyumbangkan bantuan seperti tangki rendaman, alat-alat pemprosesan lada dan bekalan infrustruktur ladang seperti pelantar jemuran kepada En.Seow. Bantuan yang disalurkan ini telah membantu dalam meningkatkan kualiti keluaran lada beliau.

Memandangkan Sarawak merupakan negeri pengeluar terbesar lada, pengerusi MPB berharap agar kaedah dan cara penanaman lada yang dipraktikkan oleh En.Seow dapat dijadikan panduan kepada pekebun lada di Sarawak agar pengeluaran lada negara dapat dipertingkatkan lagi dan sekaligus memajukan industri lada negara.

“RAndAu TeCHnology” SeMpenA Hppn 2011 Bahagian Pembangunan dan

Penyelidikan (R&D) telah diberi peluang untuk menyampaikan ceramah dalam program “Technology Talk”, yang juga dikenali sebagai “Randau Technology” sempena Hari Peladang, Penternak dan Nelayan (HPPN) 2011 di Bintulu pada 13 - 14 Mac 2011. Program ini merupakan satu wahana untuk mengembangkan dan berkongsi maklumat terkini mengenai teknologi pertanian dan industri asas tani oleh agensi-agensi kerajaan kepada masyarakat setempat. Sebanyak 10 wakil agensi kerajaan iaitu MPB, MARDI, MPOB, LKIM, DOA, LGM, LPNM, JPLS, IADA dan UPM-Bintulu telah turut serta dalam mempromosikan teknologi pertanian terkini daripada agensi masing-masing.

Ceramah yang bertajuk “Lada Varieti Semongok Aman- Penjana Pendapatan Tinggi dalam Industri Lada” selaras dengan tema HPPN 2011 iaitu Transformasi Industri Pertanian Menjana Pendapatan Tinggi, telah disampaikan oleh

Pegawai Penyelidik MPB, Encik Chen Yi Shang. Ceramah yang berlangsung selama 20 minit ini menekankan kelebihan-kelebihan lada varieti Semongok Aman seperti kadar pertumbuhan yang cepat, keupayaannya yang tahan penyakit reput akar, menghasilkan buah yang banyak dan lebih pedas. Kelebihan ini memberikan hasil yang lebih lumayan jika dibandingkan dengan varieti lada yang lain. Di samping itu, beliau turut menerangkan kaedah penanaman lada dan kaedah penyelenggaraan lada yang betul.

Bagi memastikan “Technology Talk” mendapat sambutan hangat, brosur telah diedarkan kepada orang ramai bagi memaklumkan mengenai tarikh, masa dan lokasi ceramah lada Semongok Aman akan diadakan. Ceramah pada 13 Mac 2011 ini telah menghimpunkan 30-40 orang pengunjung yang terdiri daripada wakil MARDI, DOA, SALCRA, para petani dan orang awam.

Slot “Technology Talk” ini telah mendapat respon yang baik daripada para pengunjung dan ramai di antara mereka telah mengajukan soalan dan di antara pertanyaan yang diajukan adalah mengenai kaedah kawalan penyakit akar reput, kandungan kimia minyak lada dan kegunaan oleoresin. Sebagai penghargaan terhadap penglibatan mereka dalam ceramah ini, pihak MPB telah memberikan keratan lada Semongok Aman sebagai door gift, ia juga sebagai salah satu langkah untuk mempromosikan dan memperkenalkan lada Semongok Aman kepada para pekebun, khususnya pekebun lada di sekitar Bahagian Bintulu. Di samping itu, langkah ini juga dapat menggalakkan para petani menanam semula lada.

Pemberian keratan lada sebagai door gift dicadangkan agar dapat diteruskan pada masa depan nanti sebagai salah satu cara untuk menggalakkan penanaman lada di kalangan petani.

Dalam usaha menggalakkan penanaman lada khususnya di kawasan baru yang berpotensi untuk pengeluaran lada, Lembaga Lada Malaysia (MPB) telah menganjurkan Kursus Pengeluaran Bahan Tanaman (KPBT) kepada golongan yang berminat untuk menanam tanaman lada. Skop kursus merangkumi aspek penanaman lada, tapak semaian, tiang sokongan serta kos dan pulangan.

Siri pertama kursus tahun 2011 ini telah diadakan di Hotel Meligai Kapit pada 16 - 18 Mac 2011 dan telah dihadiri oleh 29 orang peserta. Kapit dipilih sebagai lokasi penganjur kerana kawasan tersebut amat berpontensi untuk perluasan tanaman lada. Majlis penutupan kursus ini telah disempurnakan oleh Ketua Pengarah, Encik Grunsin Ayom. Beliau menyeru para peserta untuk terus menanam dan mengeluarkan lada memandangkan lada adalah salah satu tanaman yang sesuai untuk membantu meningkatkan sosioekonomi penduduk di luar bandar.

Susulan permintaan masyarakat setempat destinasi kursus seterusnya adalah negeri Sabah. Siri kedua kursus ini diadakan di kawasan Matunggong, Kudat pada 15 - 16 Mei 2011. Seramai 32 orang peserta yang terdiri daripada pekebun dan juga pegawai pertanian telah menghadiri kursus ini. Majlis penutupan dan penyampaian sijil telah disempurnakan oleh Y.B. Tuan Sarapin Magana, Setiausaha Politik kepada Ketua Menteri merangkap ADUN N.4 Matunggong. Beliau mengucapkan terima kasih kepada pihak Kerajaan kerana telah berusaha memperkenalkan tanaman lada, amnya ke negeri Sabah dan khasnya ke kawasan Matunggong melalui agensi pelaksananya iaitu Lembaga Lada Malaysia.

Destinasi kedua KPBT di negeri Sabah bagi tahun 2011 diadakan di Kampung Muhibah Ranau pada 18 - 19 Mei 2011. KPBT di Ranau mendapat sambutan yang amat menggalakkan di mana seramai 52 orang peserta telah menghadiri kursus ini untuk mengetahui potensi dan peluang tanaman lada. Ranau dipilih sebagai destinasi KPBT kerana bentuk mukabumi dan keadaan tanahnya yang sesuai untuk menanam lada.

Majlis penutupan dan penyampaian sijil telah disempurnakan oleh Encik Philip Gaweng, Pengarah Kanan Bahagian Khidmat Pengurusan MPB. Beliau berkongsi pencapaian masyarakat negeri Sarawak yang telah berjaya mengusahakan tanaman lada sebagai salah satu sumber ekonomi sejak sekian lama. Menurut beliau, adalah menjadi tanggungjawab MPB untuk meluaskan tanaman lada ke negeri Sabah berdasarkan mandat yang telah diberikan oleh Kerajaan. Encik Andrew Ladat selaku Pegawai Kemajuan Masyarakat di kawasan Ranau juga mengharapkan kursus seumpama ini dapat dilaksanakan ke peringkat kampung. Walaupun tanaman lada

merupakan tanaman baru bagi masyarakat negeri Sabah, namun kesungguhan dan keinginan mereka untuk menanam tanaman ini terpancar daripada kerjasama dan penglibatan mereka semasa sesi latihan amali di tapak kebun dan juga sesi pertanyaan semasa ceramah. Sebagai perintis dan kesungguhan usaha Kerajaan melalui agensinya Lembaga Lada Malaysia untuk memperluaskan tanaman lada ke negeri Sabah, setiap peserta telah dibekalkan dengan 50 keratan lada melalui inisiatif pejabat Cawangan Pembangunan Pengeluaran.

MALAYSIA-INDONESIAKERJASAMA BILATERAL KOMODITI

Mesyuarat Kerjasama Bilateral dalam bidang komoditi antara Malaysia dan Indonesia diadakan setiap tahun secara bergilir-gilir. Pada tahun ini, Kuching telah menjadi tuan rumah bagi Persidangan Kerjasama Dua Hala Malaysia-Indonesia dalam bidang Komoditi dari 9 - 13 Mei 2011. Antara komoditi yang dibincangkan adalah Kelapa Sawit, Koko, Lada dan Jathropha.

Mesyuarat Sub Kumpulan Kerja (Sub Working Group) untuk lada telah diadakan pada 11 Mei 2011.

Perbincangan dua hala bagi komoditi lada telah dipengerusikan oleh En. Shamsudin Nor, Setiausaha Bahagian, Bahagian Industri Kemajuan Koko dan Lada, Kementerian Perusahaan Perladangan dan Komoditi Malaysia dan dipengerusikan bersama oleh Ir. Nazaruddin.

Pemuafakatan dalam pelbagai aspek telah dicapai oleh kedua-dua negara antaranya termasuklah dalam aspek perkongsian maklumat, pembangunan sumber manusia, kerjasama dalam isu antarabangsa kawalan

Datin Paduka Nurmala Abdul Rahim, Ketua Setiausaha (KSU) Kementerian Perusahaan Perladangan dan Komoditi (KPPK) Malaysia telah membuat kunjungan buat julung kalinya ke Kebun Contoh Lada yang diusahakan oleh Encik Liew Tet Chin di Rapak, Sri Aman pada 14 Mei 2011. Dalam lawatan tersebut, YBhg. Datin Paduka Nurmala bersama rombongan yang terdiri daripada Pegawai-pegawai Kanan dari Pejabat Kementerian telah disambut oleh Ketua Pengarah dan Pegawai-pegawai Kanan Lembaga Lada Malaysia (MPB) serta Encik Liew Tet Chin.

Mesyuarat Pegawai-pegawai Kanan (Senior Officials Meeting) pula diadakan pada 12 Mei 2011 dan dipengerusikan oleh Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Perusahaan Perladangan dan Komoditi Malaysia,

Persidangan lima hari ini berakhir dengan kenyataan bersama oleh kedua-dua buah negara untuk mengukuhkan lagi kerjasama bagi semua komoditi tersebut dalam pelbagai bidang. Malaysia telah diwakili oleh Menteri Perusahaan Perladangan dan Komoditi, Y.B. Tan Sri Bernard Dompok dan Indonesia pula diwakili oleh Menteri Pertanian Indonesia, Dr. Ir. H. Suswono.

Semasa berada di kebun tersebut, beliau telah diberi taklimat mengenai projek Kebun Contoh Lada yang diusahakan oleh Encik Liew Tet Chin. Kebun Contoh di Rapak, Sri Aman yang telah ditubuhkan pada tahun 2008 merupakan salah satu daripada 5 kebun contoh yang telah dibangunkan oleh MPB. Kebun Contoh yang turut dibangunkan adalah Stok di Sarikei, Kampung Rituh di Serian, Seelong Jaya di Senai, Johor dan Pematoh di Betong. Tujuan mewujudkan Kebun-kebun Contoh tersebut adalah sebagai plot demonstrasi dan pembelajaran serta menjadi tempat tarikan para pelawat dan pelancong yang ingin melihat suasana sebenar di kebun lada. Pihak MPB telah memberikan bantuan input pertanian kepada pemilik Kebun Contoh seperti baja, racun, alat pemprosesan lada beserta stor, tandas dan lain-lain kemudahan.

Kebun Contoh di Rapak, Sri Aman amat terkenal dan telah menerima kunjungan ramai pelancong dari dalam dan luar negeri. Kebun contoh ini berperanan sebagai pusat sehenti (one-stop center) di mana para pelawat

MPB serta penduduk Kampung Daha Kisau. Sesi taklimat juga telah diadakan untuk memberi penerangan mengenai kebun yang diusahakan oleh Puan Rita Tamot yang kemudiannya diikuti dengan sesi dialog bersama penduduk setempat.

Puan Rita Tamot mula menanam lada pada tahun 1997 dan kini telah mempunyai 1,800 pokok lada matang yang memberikan hasil yang lumayan. Di samping itu, beliau juga mengusahakan tanaman koko dan kelapa sawit selain bergiat aktif dalam pembelian lada daripada penduduk di kawasan tersebut. Pada tahun 2010, kebun lada Puan Rita yang mencatatkan rekod jualan lada sebanyak 34.07 tan dengan nilai berjumlah RM387,241.35 telah disenaraikan dalam Program

Usahawan Angkat oleh MPB. YBhg. Datin Paduka Nurmala merakamkan rasa bangga di atas kejayaan ibu tunggal seperti Puan Rita Tamot yang telah diangkat menjadi salah seorang pekebun dan usahawan yang berjaya.

YBhg. Datin Paduka KSU KPPK juga tidak melepaskan peluang untuk meninjau keadaan di kebun milik Puan Rita Tamot. Beliau berpuashati dengan penyelenggaraan kebun tersebut dan berbangga dengan usaha serta inisiatif yang diambil oleh MPB dalam membantu para pekebun lada. Lawatan tersebut tamat pada pukul 5.00 petang dengan keberangkatan KSU KPPK serta rombongan.

Seterusnya, YBhg. Datin Paduka KSU KPPK berangkat ke Serian untuk kunjungan ke kebun milik Puan Rita Tamot di Kampung Daha Kisau. Ketibaan rombongan KSU KPPK disambut oleh Pegawai-pegawai Kanan

melihat dengan sendiri projek-projek yang telah

dilaksanakan oleh agensi di bawah KPPK.

Projek Pusat Pengembangan dan Pemasaran Lada

Korporat. Selepas taklimat tersebut, rombongan KSU

telah dibawa untuk melihat kemudahan dan kawasan

persekitaran di pejabat MPB Johor.

Seterusnya, rombongan KSU dibawa pula untuk

melawat kebun lada yang dimiliki oleh Onego Sdn, Bhd

di Bio-Valley, Desaru. Kebun lada yang diwujudkan

tersebut merupakan salah satu daripada komponen

dalam Program Perluasan Tanaman Lada. Penerangan

mengenai projek tersebut telah disampaikan oleh Puan

Florence Sanjan, Pengarah Bahagian Pembangunan

Pengeluaran dan Usahawan Tani.

The International Pepper Community in close cooperation with the Directorate General of International Trade Cooperation, Ministry of Trade, Government of Indonesia will be organizing the 39th Session & Meetings of IPC at the Sheraton Senggigi Beach Resort, Senggigi Beach, Lombok Island, Indonesia from 22nd – 26th November 2011. The 39th Session and Meetings of IPC which are being hosted by the Ministry of Trade will have the major theme on the “Global Strategy and Innovation for Sustainable Pepper Production, Prices and Quality”.
