Acorn Class In acorn class we have been enjoying
designing and setting up our own cof-
fee shop. Please come and visit us for a
babychino! We are really enjoying taking on the role of
baristas and making drinks and snacks for our friends.
We have even been to visit some of our local coffee
shops for inspiration and have been building our own
coffee machines. We have also been enjoying the story
we're going on a bear hunt and have had lots of fun us-
ing our senses to explore the story.
Willow Class This week, Willow
Class have enjoyed
exploring the concept
of revenge linked to
The Winter’s Tale
and thinking of ways
King Leontes wanted
to punish Polixenes.
They also performed
excel-
lently
with the
OAE in
their
musical
concert.
Oak Class
There have been fishy goings on in Oak Class
this week as we get to grips with the story of
The Singing Mermaid. We have been observ-
ing, painting, writing about and then dissect-
ing real fish - we were amazed to see their
tiny teeth and tongues! Then we
had a lovely trip to The Little An-
gel to see a puppet show of the
story. Next week, Sam
Sly's circus is coming to town....!
Ash Class Ash Class have been practising
extremely hard this week for their
assembly. We are performing the
story 'Giraffes Can't Dance', how-
ever have changed it to 'Giraffes
CAN Dance.' Everyone has been
making sure they are more like
Gerald the Giraffe and always
have a go and never
give up if something
seems too tricky.
Cedar Class
Cedar class have been learning to
be super scientists recently with
our trips to the Science Museum
and Hampstead Heath. We are
now budding experts in both soils
AND forces! We've also put on
our poetry hats and written poems
of magical things that may fit in
mysterious boxes.
When we've not
been busy being po-
ets, we have been
museum curators for
our Ancient Greek
pop-up museum!
Chestnut Class Chestnut Class were able to
bring all of their wonderful
learning to life with an amazing
class assembly all about
WW2. The children then
went on to explore the Churchill
War Rooms. They learnt lots
about the Prime Minster and the
location from where he made
some very difficult decisions
during World War Two. In
maths, Chestnut Class have been
learning about square and cube
numbers and they have been
converting between different
units of measure.
They have also
been using this
knowledge to solve
various problems.
Sycamore Class
Last week Sycamore Class had
a thought-provoking trip to St
Paul's where children tried on
Bishops' robes and learnt the dif-
ference between a cross and a cru-
cifix. In English we have written
playscripts around the story of
Persephone while in maths Syca-
more Class has been investigating
division. Meanwhile, as part of
our science topic on
electricity, we have
been building circuits.
We also had an an in-
spirational open after-
noon enjoying the amazing An-
cient Greek projects the children
had created and finding out all
sorts of interesting things about
life in Ancient Greece.
Beech Class
Beech class have en-
joyed continuing to read
Shackleton's Journey &
last week wrote home
letters from the sailors to
their families.
In science,
they've en-
joyed starting their new
topic on Evolution!
Happy Birthday to all those children who have
a birthday in March.
