Kenmore South Creek Care is a group of parents, teachers, students and neighbours working to restore the upper partof Gubberly Creek that is behind the school oval. Throughweeding, planting and maintaining we hope to slowly grow anative forest and create a usable area for the children and staffat the school and a healthy environment for the turtles and otheranimals that live in and along the creek.

Since forming seven months ago under the guidance of theBrisbane City Council’s Habitat Brisbane program we haveplanted over 150 plants and created a space for the schoolenvironmental group (Every Hand Counts) to have access to thecreek. In 2018 we hope to continue removing the dense weedplants and plant more natives.

We will also be doing more weeding to prepareour area for further planting. Please wear closed in shoes, longpants and bring a water bottle.
