Proud to have theseservices in our community.

When a loved one has a terminal illness, family members can easily feel overwhelmed and anxious about their role in caregiving. Those who are closest to the patient need to know what to do in specific situations, what might happen next as the disease progresses, and how they can help keep their loved one as safe, comfortable and pain free as possible. The Whatcom Hospice care team works with patients and families to answer all their questions and provide the comprehensive support they need.

As an important part of patient and family education, your philanthropic support enables Whatcom Hospice to present every hospice family with a customized educational binder containing detailed instructions about how to care for their loved one who is approaching the end of life. The binders contain key contact phone numbers and helpful information about available resources, the Medicare Hospice benefit, pain

and symptom management, what to do in an emergency, and much more.

Many family members have commented that they often refer to the binder and deeply appreciate having this information right at their fingertips.

Sometimes, the course of a disease cannot be changed. Thanks to you, however, we are equipping families with the strategies and tools they need to keep their loved ones free from suffering at the end of life and the peace of mind that comes with knowing they are doing all the right things as they navigate this difficult journey.

Caregiving That Comes with Instructions
