kchs newsletter - kenai central high school...track & field: april 10-11 ig relays at anchorage...
TRANSCRIPT
The Alaska Measures of Progress or AMP
tests will be given to 9th and 10th grade stu-
dents this month. These are the new state
assessments for English Language Arts and
Math. It is extremely important that stu-
dents attend school those days and do their
best on the exams. Students and schools are being judged based on their participa-
tion and performance. It is important that we paint and accurate picture of your son
or daughters ability and the performance of
Kenai Central High School in general.
The Track, Soccer, Baseball, and Softball teams have begun to practice. Hopefully the
snow will stay at bay and we will be able to
have competitions as scheduled. I know that
the students are really looking forward to
getting outside.
It is at this time of the year that we start to
look toward the future and our planning for next school year gets underway. We will
hold a Freshman Parent Night on April 20 at
6 pm in the Little Theater. This will be an
orientation for parents of 8th grade students
who will be coming to Kenai Central as
freshman next year. Please spread the
word to those parents so that they may come and learn about our school and the
year to come.
Thanks and have a great month.
GO KARDS!

JOB SHADOW 2015 THANK YOU
In preparation for the 2015 Job Shadow Day, 100 juniors at Kenai Central High School spent several months
researching careers and preparing business portfolios, including job applications, résumés, and cover letters.
Their efforts and dedication during this unit prepared them to positively represent Kenai Central High School.
The unit culminated with individualized, first-hand workplace experiences with local business hosts from
across the Central Peninsula. KCHS would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all of the individuals,
