Magazine advertisements are used to advertise something to its target audience. Advertising helps promote the artist or the object so they can become more recognized to their audience and help them earn more money through their production sales such as albums which is also helped along by advertising……



This magazine is advertising Katy Perry to her target audience. She is targeting an audience of males and females ranging from the ages of at least 13 to 30……



She is wearing a low cut leotard around the chest area which appeals to the male gender because that is what they like to see. Her legs are also showing which again attracts the males.



Katy is stood in a position which is somewhat seen as a revealing stance which is made to attract its audience. Her arms are placed on her hip and on her leg which are there for attention to be drawn to her legs and slim figure. She is stood in a slimming position so that she looks like a stereotypical super model and this will attract other females because she is a role model and other females will strive to be like her and look like her.



She is also wearing a bracelet which shows she is up to date with fashion and also her bright red lipstick shows that she is in a 'sexy' mood and shows she is stereotypical because other female wear lipstick



The choice of colour's for the writing is used to appeal to both genders. The pink appeals to females and connotes love and the blue appeals to males and connotes calmness. The black writing is used to make the text look bold and stand out more from everything else. The draw attention to the rest of the magazine. The white background is used so that everything in front of it can be clearly seen and it makes everything stand out so that nothing looks irrelevant.



Katy is stood center in the middle of the magazine because it is 'all about her' because she is the one being advertised. The text is placed around her. Some small and some large. The larger text stands out more such as 'wild' and 'make summer rock' because that will be what Katy is trying to advertise to her audience, how to be wild and how to make summer rock. The smaller text is still relevant but is smaller because it is not as important on the front page as it is in the magazine itself.
