Mr. Lewis, Art Teacher ***DRAWING AND ESSAY CONTEST COMING SOON!*** *** Principal’s Corner *** Dear KES Family and Friends, Today is a day of mixed emotion - it is Coach Kellerman's last day. As I mentioned in the Dolphin Digest newsletter a few weeks ago, Coach Toni Kellerman is retiring after 22 years of teaching in St. Johns County - all of which was at Ketterlinus Middle/Elementary School. This past Wednes- day, the staff had a surprise party for Coach. She was speechless - a first for her!! It was great to see some KES staff members from the past and present all together. Over the last week, I've watched past students and parents come and visit Coach Kellerman...lots of hugs and thank you's. Coach Kellerman is a legend. Her physical education program is the best in St. Johns County! Her lessons were always engaging and highly moti- vating. Coach Kellerman developed some innovative programs very unique to KES - from Jelly Bean Field Day, TOTs to Mighty Milers. After 22 years, she never slowed down or accepted mediocre. She continued to bring new ideas and activities to our school. In fact, she had me talked into doing roller skating last year. However, we realized we could not use the gym nor clear the parking lot for this activity. But, we did give it serious consideration. It is pretty amazing to be teaching the children of former students. Those former students, now parents, are very excited to have "their coach" teach their child(ren). This is what makes our school so special...and makes this goodbye so bittersweet. I'm thrilled for Coach to be able to spend time for herself and her family. She truly deserves this and I hope she is able mark off items on her bucket list - in- cluding doing part of the Appalachian Trail with us. It is Coach's Time now. We will miss you, Coach Toni Kellerman. Best wishes...and Happy Trails!
