Prologue
In the Name of Allah, The All-Mercifl, The Most Mercifl.
All Praises belong to Allah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refgewith Allah om the evil of our own souls and om our bad deeds. Whomsoever
Allah gides will never be led astay, and whomsoever Allah leaves astay, no one cangide. I bear witess that there is no god but Allah, the One, having no parer. And
I bear witess that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
This humble summar of the Quran in 30 sections known as Juz (pl. Ajzaa) hasbeen compiled in order to help us develop kushoo (aentiveness) and enrich our
prayers when listening to the Quran especially in Ramadan when most mosques tto complete its recitation during this Sacred Month. We hope it becomes an encour-agement for us to read at least one Juz each day of our lives and to become aached
to the Quran, such that we become known as the People of Quran.
This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a gidance for those conscious ofAllah (2:2)
Special thanks goes to Shaykh Amr Ibn Abdillah al-Muqbil who superised a sum-mar wrien in Arabic (Hidayatl-Ajzaa) which fored the basis of this booklets
compilation and to Shaykh Abu Rumaysah for tanslating and providing additionalpoints om his own compilation for his Mosque in High Wycombe. Many otherbrothers were involved in this project and we thank them for their eors and make

Juz 1
The rst Juz of the Quran comprises its opening chapter, the seven verses of al-Fa-tihah (the Opener) and the rst par of its longest chapter, al-Baqarah (the Heifer).
It is not without reason that some of the early generations considered al-Fatihah tobe the Mother of the Book. In its seven shor verses, it contains praise of Allah, itars worship must be for him Alone and ends by inforing us about the path
of gidance. It is followed by the rst par of al-Baqarah, which unfolds the natreof mankind through the narative of the stor of Adam and his exulsion om
Paradise. The chapter then moves onto the stor of the Children of Israel (the Jews)and teaches us imporant lessons om the stor of the heifer (cow).
Worship is solely and exclusively for Allah, and one must tr to HimAlone for help; Allah divides mankind into three categories: Believers, Disbelievers orHyocrites and describes the characteristics of the hyocrites;
The stor of the heifer contains geat lessons: beware of faltering whenfaced with Allahs commands and do not procrastinate or ridicule thembecause to do so leads to hardness of the hear; Beware the danger of preventing Allahs remembrance in the Mosques,or moving to destoy them; Who built the Sacred Mosque as well as how and why it was built.

Juz 2
In this Juz, Allah responds to the Jews of the time and the accusations they madewhen the direction of prayer was changed om the al-Aqsa mosque in Jersalem
to al-Kabah in Makkah. Imporantly Allah concludes the issue by indicating thatpurication of ones soul is more imporant than facing any paricular direction inprayer. The Juz also covers Allahs wisdom over a number of maers; Inheritance;Mariage; Hajj; and most perinently, Fasting the only place in the Quran to con-tain such detailed inforation about this geat act of worship. Throughout this Juz
and in beteen even its most detailed reglations, Allah stesses again and again thenecessit of man maintaining, at all times, Taqwa (God Consciousness) to remain
conscious of Allah in all his aairs.
The obligation of fasting, its rles and reglations and other relatedmaers. This is the only place containing a detailed discussion aboutfasting, so ponder it well! The rles and reglations concering Hajj, Mariage, Divorce, Suckling
etc. in beteen which Allah stesses the imporance of Taqwa The stor of Jalut (Goliath) and a powerfl nation toppled not by sheernumbers or might but through faith, patience and constancy.

2. Al-Baqarah(253-end)
3. Aal-e-Imran (1-92)
This Juz concludes the longest chapter of the Quran which contains the geatestverse Ayat ul-Kursi (verse 282). This immense verse is the geatest single verse inthe Quran, and its memorisation, understanding and recitation will derive many
benets for the worshipper. Al-Baqarah ends with a number of rlings whichdemonstate that charit is a foundation of an Islamic economy as well as Allahs
forbidding of riba (usur/interest), declaring those who engage in it as declaringwar upon Him. The nal three verses of this chapter are a prayer for Allahs forgive-ness and for His protection. The Juz continues into the nex chapter, Aal-e-Imran(Family of Imran) which covers (amongst others) the stor of Esa ( Jesus) the most
outstanding example of mans rejection and misinterretation of Allahs message.
The geatest verse in the Quran: Ayat ul-Kursi, stdy it, memorise itand make sure you understand it; That riba is war against Allah and His Messenger; That the Quran is the criterion beteen tth and falsehood and Allah
will only accept Islam as the te religion; The stor of Marams (Mar) mother shows how a righteous, sincereintention has a good eect on ones child; Musa (Moses), Esa, Muhammad (peace be upon them all) were allupon the belief of Tawhid (Divine Unit) and wared against shirk(polyheism); We are taught an imporant lesson when it comes to criticising societor a nation: That it is wrong to generalise.

3. Aal-e-Imran (92-end)4. Al-Nisa (1-23)
Having appealed to the Christians in the preceding par of Aal-e-Imran and theJews in the previous chapter, Allah now directs His verses to the Muslim communit.
This begins with a call for the Muslim communit to remain united, holding fast
to the rope of Allah. It then addresses the bales of Badr and Uhud, detailing thereasons why Badr was a victor against all odds and Uhud the opposite. Allah
concludes by reminding us that His Promise is cerain and that we must remainpatient and have Taqwa (God Consciousness). In this Juz also begins the chapteral-Nisa (Women), named aer the numerous references to women and injunctions
related to them. This chapter is imporant, as being revealed aer the defeat atUhud it covers some of the inevitable consequences; widows, orhans and the fair
distibution of wealth.
The imporance of holding fast to Allahs rope and the sigicance ofunit and not spliing The high stats of the Muslim nation by vire of their enjoining thegood and prohibiting the evil;
The evil eects of disobedience as shown to us by the example of theBale of Uhud; The qualities of Allahs righteous serants. Research and consider themwell and do your utost to be one of them! The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would recite the last versesof Aal-e-Imran upon waking up - ponder them careflly; The chapter al-Nisa concentates on the rights of the weak anddowntodden, the orhans, women, and those oppressed and unableto migate.

4. Al-Nisa (24-147)
This Juz continues the chapter of al-Nisa, named aer the numerous references towomen and injunctions related to them and family life as a whole. The chapter con-
tinues to exlain the practical legislation om Allah now relevant to the edgling
Muslim communit following the loss of life at the Bale of Uhud. Towards the nalquarer of the Juz, Allah rejects the possibilit of belief in Him without having beliefin all of His Messengers a reftation of the Jews, who rejected Muhammad (peace
be upon him) and the Christians who tisted the message of Esa ( Jesus).
Family relations, in paricular the relationship of husband and wife andhow disputes should be resolved if they arise The command to obey Allah, His Messenger and those placed inauthorit over us and that any dierences must be refered back to the
Quran and Sunnah (teachings of the Prophet Muhammad). Seeking a law besides the law of Allah for judgent is a tait of thehyocrites, indeed they do all they can to tr a person away om Allahslaw! Practical legal gidance; shorening the prayer while on a jourey; adescription of prayer at the time of fear; marital law; how to deal with dis-cord; the imporance of justice; and rles peraining to separation allthe while reminding a person of being aware of Allah and fearing Him. Detail of how the hyocrites alig themselves with Allahs enemies, their
laziness in worship, and their nal end in the Hereaer.

4. Al-Nisa (148-end)5. Al-Maidah (1-81)
Having previously refted the People of the Book and their beliefs with regards toEsa ( Jesus) and his mother, Maram (Mar), Allah now exands on how the Peopleof the Book went wrong. It tells us of how Esa was raised to Allah rather than being
crcied on the cross and how the same message was preached by Esa as it was bythe Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them all). In detailing their relationshipwith Allah and their Prophets, we nd lessons for us. The nal verse is on inher-
itance law, exemplifing that social gidance cannot be separated om ones belief.The Juz continues with the chapter al-Maidah (Table Spread), the h chapter of
the Quran. The chapter is named aer the spread of food that was requested by thedisciples of Esa - and its crowning verse (3) is Allahs declaration that Islam is perfect
and His Favour upon us now complete.
A large porion of al-Maidah, one of the last chapters to be revealed,is taken up with a discussion of contact law and the promises that wegive in our lives; Al-Maidah mentions 18 rles and reglations not found anyhere else
in the Quran; The chapter begins by detailing foods that are unlawfl and some testhat are lawfl; The verse concering wudu (ablution) which mentions its obligationsand the obligations of ghusl (rital bath); One must bear witess for the sake of Allah and one must always be faireven with people that one hates; The rling of one who does not judge by Allahs law; Rebuing the Christian belief in Esa (peace be upon him) and giving
them the oppornit to repent.

5. Al-Maidah (82-end)6. Al-Anam (1-110)
In this Juz, Allah concludes the chapter of al-Maidah (Table Spread) with a numberof rlings on oath-taking, game and hunting and the prohibition of alcohol. Ina continuing theme rnning through this chapter, the nal verses of the chapterare concering Christianit, the miracles of Esa ( Jesus) and the stor om which
the chapter takes it name. The chapter ends by conring that Esa never claimeddivinit for himself. The Juz also contains the rst par of the 6th chapter of
the Quran, al-Anam (the Cale). This chapter is named aer the superstitiouspractices of the pre-Islamic Arabs but is, in essence, a many sided argment against
mankinds tendency to associate parers with Allah, be it directly or indirectly.
Those People of the Book who are closest to us and those who arefrhest om us; Rules and reglations on oath-taking, alcohol and gambling, huntingwhilst in ihram (a sacred state which Muslims enter upon tavelling for
Umrah (lesser pilgimage), wills, bearing testimony and witessing; The discussion beteen Allah and Esa clearing him of any claims todivinit; Tawhid (Divine Unit), Resurection and Prophethood in al-Anam; The stor of Ibrahim (Abraham) and his father, his debate with hisnation and details of his descendants; Eman (Faith) is stenghened by contemplating upon the creationbecause this leads to geater veneration of Allah, its Creator.

6. Al-Anam (111-end)7. Al-Araf (1-87)
Allah concludes al-Anam (Cale) by continuing on the topic of Tawhid (DivineUnit). The verses in this par of the chapter also contain details of food that is
prohibited and lawfl for a Muslim. Allah wars of his decree for those who do notfollow the path of Tawhid and that it will, indeed, come to pass. By way of example,
He exlains why the towns of the past were destoyed. The chapter concludes by acommand to the Prophet (peace be upon him) to say Behold my prayer and all myacts of worship are for Allah Alone in whose divinit none has a share. The fol-lowing chapter, al-Araf (the Heights) covers, in more detail, the stor of Adam andthe Prophets who followed om him it is a chapter that wars us of our enemies,
om Satan and others, and how through prophetic gidance, we can be saved.
To worship Allah alone, and to follow the Way of Allah upon unitwithout spliing; The superstitious beliefs of the pre-Islamic Arabs relating to cale andAllahs reftation of them;
The stor of Adam and the creation of Hawa (Eve), and their fallfollowing the deceit of Satan who is a constant enemy to mankind; To beware of Allahs enemies and to follow the revelation and theProphets indeed, that Hell is the end abode of Allahs enemies; The stories of Nuh (Noah) and the Great Flood, Hud, Salih, Lut (Lot)and Shuayb. All of these prophets were resisted but the victor wasultimately theirs and evil was humbled in the end, Allahs plan neverfails.

7. Al-Araf (88-end)8. Al-Anfal (1-80)
In the remaining verses of al-Araf, Allah tells us, in considerable depth, the storof Musa (Moses) and his stggle with the geat enemy of Allah, the Pharaoh.
Furherore, we are told of Musas exeriences with the Children of Israel with many
imporant lessons for the Muslim nation and our own submission to the ProphetMuhammads message. Aptly, the chapter concludes by discussing the Quran and
the role of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) a man, having Taqwa (Godconsciousness) and never too proud to worship Allah, in complete opposite to the
enemies discussed throughout. The Juz continues with the chapter of al-Anfal (theSpoils of War) revealed shorly aer the Bale of Badr. The lessons leared om thebale reinforce: the vires necessar for ghting in the Path of Allah, victor against
the odds, clemency and consideration of others.
Whilst the conict beteen Musa and Pharaoh was intense, it only ledMusa to place frher his dependence upon Allah; When times got hard, Musa directed his people to tr to Allah forhelp, to be patient, and reminded them that the whole Earh belongs toAllah and that the nal end is for the pious;
The mention of the inhabitants of the town by the sea that tansgessedas regards the Sabbath and the end result of those who tied to evade thelaws of Allah through ticker; Allahs Mercy encompasses everhing and He mentions that He willdecree His Mercy especially for a goup of His serants. Ponder theirqualities well so that you might be one of them; About the beginning of creation and a reftation of the belief that anyhing worshippedbesides Allah can bring any benet; About the Bale of Badr and the rling of the spoils of war, which imporantly is amed by a
reminder of the geater imporance of Taqwa and keeping ties of kinship.

8. Al-Anfal (81-end)9. Al-Taubah (1-92)
The nal ten verses of al-Anfal (Spoils of War) remind the believer that victor inbale is not dependant on huge numbers or militar might but rather constancy in
faith and patience, a recuring theme throughout the Quran. It also covers the issue
of the prisoners of war captred during Badr, the vire of those who ght in Allahspath and the imporance of the believers protecting one another. The nex chapterin this Juz is al-Tawbah (Repentance), the only chapter in the Quran not precededby the basmalah this is because it is widely regarded to be a continuation of theprevious chapter dealing with similar issues of the moral distinction beteen the
believers and their enemies. It was revealed in the 9th year of Hijra and proclaimedthe end of idolat in Arabia.
We continue the discourse on Badr and the dream of the Prophet; A call subsuming six pieces of advice that will lead to victor; Al-Anfal ends by exlaining that it is brotherhood that ties the Muslimworld together; Al-Tawbah begins by dening the limits to the pact beteen Allahs
Messenger and the pagans; The Islamic calendar is mentioned and the sanctit of the sacredmonths is exlained; The Muslims are encouraged to go out in the path of Allah when calledto do so and the hyocrites and all those who remain behind without avalid excuse are censured; The qualities of the hyocrites and the believers are mentioned with Allahs respectivepromises for both; The Prophet (peace be upon him) is prohibited om seeking help om the hyocrites at times
of war, and he is also prohibited om seeking forgiveness for them or praying for them.

The Juz begins with the nal quarer of al-Tawbah (Repentance) in which Allahcontinues to describe the good character of the righteous. Allah conrs that His
good pleasure is with the righteous who parake in the purifing act of spending forthe sake of Allah and car out good deeds. He reminds us that ever chapter in the
Quran continues to stenghen the believer. Allah ends this chapter by telling usof the geat natre of our Prophet (peace be upon him) and how heavily it weighedupon the Prophet that we would suer in the life to come. The Juz then covers theentire chapter of Yunus ( Jonah) which stesses Allahs power, the authenticit of the
Quran and the fate of the evildoers. It also discusses tawhid (Divine Unit), howAllah reveals Himself to man, how the Prophets were rejected and the workings of
Allahs divine gace.
The good and bad qualities of the Arabs are mentioned, then the Muhajiroon (Peoplewho migated om Makkah) and Ansar (People of Madina) are also discussed; Masjid al-Dirar is the nex topic and the evil intentions of those who built it arehighlighted. It was because of this that Allahs Messenger was prohibited om prayingin there, but at the same time the masjid that is desering of being prayed in is detailed nex;
The qualities of those who have sold their souls for the sake of Allah; The Prophet and believers are prohibited om seeking forgiveness for the pagans; The end of al-Tawbah covers the relationship of man towards the Quran and their various responses towards it; The chapter of Yunus covers Allahs sigs in creation and similitdes are given proving Allahs existence and
geatess; The pagans are challenged with this Quran; Who are the Awliya? Ponder verses 10:62-64 careflly so that you may be one of them; The stor of Nuh (Noah) is recounted, followed by the stor of Musa (Moses) and Pharaoh. The last moments ofPharaoh just before he drowned are related as a reminder to all;
Allah commands the Prophet to remain r/steadfast on faith & follow revelation until His command comes.

11. Hud (6-end)12. Yusuf (1-52)
The 12th Juz of the Quran covers the majorit of the chapter of Hud (the rst ve verses are in theprevious Juz) as well as half of the chapter of Yusuf ( Joseph), the best of stories. Hud was revealed
during the Year of Sorow, a period in which the Prophet (peace be upon him) lost his wife andcompanion, Khadijah, as well as his uncle, Abu Talib, who had protected him. As a result, hislife and that of the young Muslim communit became ver dicult. This chapter consoles the
Messenger and his followers through stories of the previous Prophets, highlighting how they dealtwith ridicule, hostilit and persecution. Imporantly whereas the previous chapter highlighted
Allahs mercy with His creation, this chapter highlights Allahs justice with His creation. This Juzalso begins the stor of Yusuf. This chapter revolves around the idea that Allah alone directs theaairs of man, and that judgent rests with Him. It highlights the tials of Yusuf, the stain ofisolation that he faced, the alienation of slaver in a foreig land, imprisonment and the nal
change of fornes that resulted om his patience. The chapter is unique in that it relates the storof Yusuf in fll, whereas we nd that other chapters relate various episodes om the lives of cerain
Prophets. Many parallels can be drawn om the stor of Yusuf to that of the Prophet (peace beupon him), as well as valuable lessons for us in our daily actions.
Allah challenges the pagans with the Quran; The debate beteen Nuh (Noah) and his son shows that the love ofAllah is geater than any other love; The stor of Hud highlights that seeking forgiveness is the means tovictor in all senses of the word: grative and literal;
The suering that a number of Messenger and Prophets faced whencalling to the path of Allah is recounted; The stor of Shuayb shows the concer Islam has with commerce, andthe imporance of being aware of Allah when tading; The Chapter of Yusuf talks about the envy of his brothers and the tialof beaut; It is sincerit that leads a person away om doing evil and licentious deeds; Dawah (spreading the message of Islam) is a dut at all times, even when imprisoned.

12. Yusuf (53-end)13. Al-Raad
14. Ibrahim (1-52)
This Juz begins with the remainder of the stor of Yusuf ( Joseph) including hismeeting with the king, his consequent exoneration and establishment in theland. From a young boy in the well, Yusuf nds himself in a powerfl positionduring a time of crisis in Egt. It is at this time that Yusuf is reunited with his
family, many years aer his brothers ploed to leave him in the well. The stor ofYusuf is a geat example of how patience and constancy in faith can overcome eventhe geatest of plots. The Juz continues with the chapter of al-Rad (Thunder), with
themes of Allahs Oneness, faith, revelation and resurection, and is distingished byits moving description of Allahs power and knowledge. The Juz concludes with thechapter of Ibrahim, which exlains how Allahs revelation will always prevail despitemans scheming against it. Unit of the Divine Message and Allahs blessings are
the focal themes of this chapter but, like other Makkan chapters, it also covers faith,revelation, Allahs Oneness, our resurection and judgent.
To take om the example of Yaqub ( Jacob) and have patience, and the benets thatensued om this; That patience and Taqwa (God Consciousness) were to taits of Yusuf that ledto his raise in wordly and spirital rank; The chapter Yusuf nishes by mentioning Allahs sigs in creation, Messengers being sent forh by Him, and
taking lesson om the stories found in the Quran; Allah propounds parables for the Quran exlaining its geatess in al-Rad. Ten pieces of advice are mentioned and whoever follows them all will have the reward of Paradise; The chapter Ibrahim opens by mentioning the stor of Musa (Moses), and the stories of other Messengers sentto their people showing how they were patient and how they relied on Allah; A scene om the events of the Hereaer is painted depicting how Satan will absolve himself of all those who
followed him. So beware of being lured by him! A parable is given of a goodly word and an evil word followed by mention of Allahs blessings. Are you gatefl? The chapter Ibrahim ends by mentioning the nal destination of the wrong doers and criminals on a day
when the Earh will be replaced for another Earh and so too the Heavens.

15. Al-Hijr16. Al-Nahl
In this Juz of the Quran, we cover to chapters - al-Hijr (Rocky Tract) and al-Nahl(the Bee). The rst of these to was revealed at a time when persecution of the
Prophet and his followers was at its peak and Islam was making lile headway in theface of Arab opposition and resistance. Allah wars the pagan Arabs of the fate of
earlier nations who similarly opposed their own Prophets. By way of frher waring,Allah highlights how Satan is persistent on corpting people whilst the Prophetis consoled and instcted to hold fast to the tth and to be patient and steadfast.Ultimately, the Trth is a maer protected by Allah. The chapter of the Bee takes itstitle om mention of the bee and its wondrous creation in verse 68 and the chapter
highlights Allahs endless blessings and the many Sigs present in His creation.
Allah consoles the Messenger (peace be upon him) by recounting thestories of some of the Prophets who came before him; The stories of Ibrahim (Abraham); Lut (Lot); and the People of al-Hijr; Al-Hijr ends by advising those whose hears are constained or torent-ed to remember Allah and glorif Him;

We begin this Juz with the chapter of al-Isra (Night Jourey). The chapter is named aerthe miraculous event in which the Prophet (peace be upon him) tavelled om Makkahto Jersalem and then through the Heavens in one single night, which is mentioned in
the opening verse of the chapter. This is followed by a discussion on the natre of Allahs
Message and the role of the Prophets. In another example of the Qurans continuouslingistic brilliance, the chapter begins by glorifing Allah and ends by praising Him,
and the sense of the whole chapter is one of praise; it includes stories about the Childrenof Israel as relate to Masjid al-Aqsa, the destination of the Prophets Night Jourey, and ittackles aspects of individual and societal behaviour. The nex chapter is that of al-Kahf(Cave), named aer the Sleepers of the Cave mentioned in verses 9 onwards and its cen-tal theme is that of purging faith of all deviancy and superstition; it stesses the reward

The chapter of al-Kahf (Cave) is concluded in this Juz with Allah completing the stor ofMusa (Moses) and Khidr and then mentioning that of Dhul-Qaray. The stor of Musa
and Khidr teaches us the many paradoxes in life that can only be understood throughpatience and knowledge, this is a lesson that even Musa nds dicult to accept in the
stor. The nex chapter in this Juz is Maram (Mar), which includes the stor of the mostpious of women and the mother of Esa ( Jesus). The cental theme of the chapter is Tawhid(Divine Unit) and this is exlored through the naration of several stories of Grace given byAllah to the Prophets; it also discusses the Day of Judgent and mentions some argments
against those who deny the resurection thereby reinforcing its cental theme. The nalchapter in the Juz is Ta-Ha. This chapter deals with the natre of revelation vis-a-vis the
Prophet; and so it commences by addressing him and ends by addressing him, in beteen
outlining his mission and duties. Allah gives us a sense of reassurance in His Divine Will byoutlining to us how He suppored and aided His Prophets.
The remaining lesson of stengh is demonstated through the stor ofDhul-Qaray; Al-Kahf concludes by depicting a scene of the Last Day and describing the end of thebelievers and disbelievers; In Chapter of Maram the word rahma (mercy) or a derivative of this word is mentioned 16 times. Consider
the places where it is mentioned careflly so that you may lear how to be a recipient of it. The stories of Ibrahim (Abraham), Zakariya and Esa are all recounted. That we are advised not to cling to this world; Allahs omnipotence and all-encompassing knowledge; We are encouraged to have taqwa (God Consciousness) and to spendin Allahs path; Wives are advised not to make life dicult for their husbands; Husbands are advised to bring up our families in the best of ways andto save them om the Fire.

The nal to ajzaa (pl. Juz) of the Quran contain 11 and 36 chapters respectively.These chapters are generally shorer than those in the previous ajzaa and were
predominantly revealed during the Prophets time in Makkah. This was a timethat Islam (for the pagan Arabs) was a stange message of submission to an unseen
God a threat to the cits ftre and prosperit. It is therefore of lile surrisethat the chapters in this Juz focus on spiritalit and aim to stenghen the beliefof the oppressed communit in Allah. They provide warings of the Hellre andthe Day of Judgement and show how pride is one of the geatest sins. About the
opening chapter, al-Mulk (Sovereigt), Allahs Messenger said it will intercede forits companion (i.e. the one who recites it) until he is forgiven.
Some aspects of this geat creation and warings of the Hellre forthose who disbelieve; Allah commends the Prophet for his lo qualities; The terors of the Last Day and the giving of the records;
Some of the qualities of the righteous; Worship coupled with patience allows a person to bear even the mostdicult tials; About the Last Day, the events that precede it and those that follow it.What have you prepared for it? About the resurection and recompense Allah repeats ten times thereain Woe on that Day to the deniers, so beware of ever denying thetth!

The nal Juz of the Quran is oen refered to as Juz Amma aer its ver rst wordand contains the nal 36 chapters of the Majestic Quran. As these chapters areshor and the verses generally also brief, it is a popular Juz for one to begin their
memorisation of the Quran. As with the previous Juz, most of these chapters were
revealed during the Prophets Makkan period. As such, the verses are consoling tothe Prophet and the believers with promises that the small communit upon thetth will overcome the powers that be. The believers are advised to remain r in
what they believe, and in one of the Qurans constant themes to patiently perseverein their tials and tibulations. The verses contain not only many warings of theHellre but also beautifl descriptions of Paradise Countless springs will ow
therein and there will be thrones raised high, and goblets ready, and cushions
ranged, and carets spread out ... May Allah make us om its inhabitants. Amin.

Abu Umaamah, may Allah be pleased with him,related that the Prophet, peace and blessings of

Read the Quran, for indeed it willcome on the Day of Judgement as
an intercessor for its companions.
