Bruce Wilson asked: What does Justice mean and where does it fit in? Charis 24 explained that Talitha shared the definition of Justice when conducting interviews. 25 26 Bruce Wilson asked: What does Community means and where does that fit in? 27 Charis said community was internal facing during the interviews. There was a 28 distinction between internal community and external community (those we serve). 29 30 Romeo Von Hermann asked: Is the survey already out? 31 32 Commissioner Polyte gave an update on the survey and noted the outcomes from 33 the survey will shape the trainings conducted by Talitha, but the JEDI Committee is 34 seeking some information to direct their work so the survey will go out in early 2022. 35 36 Commissioner Moore asked about if the committee should be concerned about 37 anonymous survey results. Commissioner Polyte noted that surveys will be 100% 38 anonymous and the results will only go to Charis and her team at Talitha, and 39 Talitha will present only raw data. 40 41 JEDI at GMT Project Brainstorm 42 Commissioner Polyte opened the floor for discussion asking what can we as 43 individuals, and as a committee do to build awareness of this work? 44 45 Charge for next month: we need to work together to create definitions of terminology 46 for concepts and words we are using often in this work. 47 48 Ideas: 49

• Changing the GMT Strategic goals to include JEDI 50 • JEDI corner in the newsletter 51 • Internal department dispute and concern resolution process (managers 52

working with staff about concerns they have related to D/I). 53 o JEDI Committee could work through these concerns through the lens 54

of the JEDI Committee. The Committee is a resource for managers. 55 o The action outcome could be that the JEDI Committee works with the 56

appropriate parties to review process and policy. 57 • Look at all existing policies through the JEDI lens to be sure that the language 58

includes these concepts and topics. 59 o Talitha is working on this now (including the company handbook) 60

• Learning what GMTs mission statement is (BW) 61 • Having roleplay in trainings so people can understand cultures better. 62 • Always looking at everyone, especially in JEDI, as leaders. This includes the 63

folks that we serve. Being objective and non-judgmental. 64 • Learning committee ethnicities to begin 65

• Public events including JEDI Committee members 66 • Make Juneteenth a company holiday 67 • As leaders we can… 68

o Hold celebrations and cookouts where labor and management get 69 together. (Way to Go week) Staff would be out in the community 70 talking about changes and hearing concerns. [Would like to see board 71 members get involved in this as well] 72

o Highlight staff on Social media 73 o Use questionnaires to gather staff feedback and ideas 74 o Look at ways to continually update staff 75

76 JEDI at GMT Project Selection and Next Steps 77 Commissioner Polyte asked committee members to keep thinking about this and 78 talking to employees so we can bring ideas from the field. 79 80 Adjourn 81 The meeting adjourned at 1:02PM. 82
