What to put on the packaging?

No great, centralized resource for packaging requirements

▹ Google “Packaging requirements for …”▹ Ask your supplier if they have standardized

packaging and look what’s on there▹ Ask an inspection company like

AsiaInspection.com▹ Look at your competitor's products (especially

large brands) ▹ Dangerous/regulated/complex products have a

higher chance for requirements

Where do I find out what else?

▸ Most Relevant/Common▹ Poly bags need suffocation warning▹ FNSKU & no other barcodes▹ Plush/Fabrics & Baby - max 1”x1” opening▹ All around durable packaging (should not

open or break when dropped, etc.)

▸ Why do we recommend FNSKU?▹ Say NO to “Stickerless Commingled”

inventory▹ Therefore, you need an FNSKU▹ Avoid the extra work of labeling FNSKU’s

on top of UPC/EAN▹ Just print FNSKU’s on your packaging

FNSKU vs. UPC vs. EAN

1. Purchase from a reseller like speedybarcodes.com

2. Create your listing with that UPC in order to get your FNSKU

3. Once your product is live, apply for brand registry then change the product identifier to something like model number. This keeps you out of trouble with Amazon.
