Traffic Safety

Unfortunately this week we had a report of parents parking in the no standing zone at the front of our school, and moving forward in the bus zone, preventing the bus from pulling in. It is vital that all drivers observe the parking signs at the front of the school so that we can keep our students safe. We also have many parents parking in the Rural Fire Service car park and some children are moving through the car park in an unsafe manner, either by climbing the fence between the school and the car park, or by running ahead of their parents. The Rural Fire Service car park should not be used in the afternoon by our community. It needs to be kept clear in case there is a fire call out. Please ensure that you use the car parking area across the road from the school. Thank you for your assistance in keeping our students safe.

Year 2/3 News

Class 2/3 has had a great term 2. We started by supporting our year 3 peers when they were doing NAPLAN which this year was administered online (except for writing). In English we have been practising using our punctuation and writing skills, reading more fluently and accurately and handwriting beautifully. In Mathematics we have been focusing on core basics of addition, subtraction and multiplication. Science has covered the topic of the sun and the rest of the term will involve numerous experiments....YAY!!!History has been interesting because we have been learning about why we left England and the trip to Australia. We also have been busy creating our first home research project. We practised and performed a drama for the school called "Positives and Negatives" which reflected our school PBL values. During PE we have been developing our athletic skills ready for the Athletics Carnival in a couple of weeks. We have had a busy, productive, wonderful term 2. Class 2/3 wish you a safe and lovely, cold June long weekend. Mrs Halliday

Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 enjoyed The Ship Of Fools Water Conservation Show earlier this week.

BACKTRACK BOYS

Free Community Screening

Backtrack Boys is an inspiring and AWARD WINNING new Australian documentary that scooped Audience Awards for Best Documentary at the Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra Film Festivals. A group of troubled boys are on a perilous course towards jail until they meet up with the rough talking, free-wheeling jackaroo Bernie Shakeshaft, and hit the road with his legendary dog jumping team. This observational documentary, filmed over two years, follows boys in a youth program that Bernie runs from a shed on the out-skirts of Armidale, a rural town in Australia. On the road, the boys find their voice, make great friendships and the dogs become national champions. But as the boy’s sleep under the stars at night the trauma is never too far away. With their survival and futures at stake they must constantly step up, push themselves, support each other and some days can be hard. This inspiring coming of age story revels the challenges and triumphs these boys face as they try to find their place in the world and the dogs that help tame their wild ways.
