Planting for the Future On a beautiful morning in May of this year several trees were planted on the campus at TVCC in memory of a long time instructor who had a passion for education and preservation of our natural environment. Ken Knothe began his teaching career and established the Natural Resource Department at Treasure Valley. Ken passed away on June 22, 2018 and because of his longtime commitment to TVCC and education the family established the Ken and Carol Knothe Scholarship. One of Ken’s projects at TVCC was planting trees around the campus. Over time, several of the trees either died or needed to be replaced along with the tree identification markers. In addition to the scholarship the family wanted to replace some of trees and markers on the campus in memory of Ken. With the help of the TVCC Maintenance Department and students in the Natural Resource Program, trees were selected and planted in remembrance of a man who cared about the College and his community.

Nursing Students Receive Scholarships Approximately $19,000 in scholarships were recently distributed to students in the TVCC Nursing Program. On May 30 several donors gathered on campus to talk about their scholarships and personally award them to the recipients. There are 13 scholarships in the Foundation that

are dedicated just for nursing students.
