on reading shopping and restaurant words. Ms.
Alice’s group has been studying maps and read-
ing stories from across the country.

We like Bible Study with Mrs. Marilyn and Mrs. Sarah. We sing songs, study, play Bible Basket-ball, and pray together. Mrs. Marilyn gave us journals to write our prayers in.

Trousdale School Art Show
by Josie K.
Sarah Bradley organized the first Trousdale School Art Show. On the day of the art show, we had visitors that morning from several differ-ent programs in Cleveland, Chattanooga, and Ooltewah. People came to Trousdale School from Orange Grove, Open Arms Care, and Life Bridges came to see the art show; some of the clients from those programs also had art in the show. We had three different groups. We played parachute games outside; the par-achute was colorful. We also played music on the drums. We played the ocean drum, djembe, buffalo drums, and gathering drums.
The art show was a good day. Students and their families came later that night. Some of the art community came, too. We had 200 visitors and a harp player. The mu-sic was beautiful. During the art show we had a silent auction where my friends and I sold our art. My art sold for $20. We also had snacks like brownies and chocolate covered strawberries. The food was fantastic.
Snow Ball 2015
by Chris S.
The food at the Snow Ball was good. We ate cheesecake, brownies, peanut butter cook-ies, and chocolate cake, and drank coffee and lemonade.
The iPad band played Christmas music and Mr. Eric sang Christmas carols. Then Mr. Tom Johnson announced that Nick was the Snow Ball King and Susan was the Queen. Then we all danced together to our favorite songs and had a great time!

Floor Hockey
Leah Wilson, our coach, taught us how to play floor hock-
ey this year. We use power and strength to play; she teach-
es us the rules of the game. We do not use roller skates,
but we do use a huge net that Mrs. Leah and Mr. Allen
built as well as hockey sticks and pucks.
Racquetball
During the Fall we got to take a PE class with Lee Univer-
sity students. We went to Lee University and they taught
us to play racquetball; to play you have to hit a ball against
the wall so it bounces back and your partner can then hit it.
It uses a lot of energy and is an awesome workout.
Volleyball
We learned how to set up, bump, spike the ball, and how
to talk to our teammate.
Tennis camp at Lee University
We started each day by warming up with the team. We
learned how to set up the ball. We also learned to listen. At
the end of each day, we circled up and did their special
cheer. At the end of the week, we got awards.
Basketball
We played basketball during the month of March and fin-
ished with a tournament at Trousdale School. We cheered
for our teammates and told them “good luck,” “play hard,”
and “great job!”
Wounded Warriors
My Dad and I (Jason) rode our bikes from Baton
Rouge, LA, to Camp Lejeune, NC! We rode
1,093.4 miles to raise money for the Wounded
Warrior Project.
Bocce Ball
We watched our friends play and cheered for each other.
We scored points for our teams and kept our eyes on the
ball.
Trousdale School Sports
by Jason R. and Joseph S.
Lee University Basketball
We got to practice with the Lady Flames from Lee University in
their gym that morning. We dribbled and practiced shooting,
guarding, and passing. After school, we helped paint signs for our
favorite players and then went to see them play. We had a great
time cheering them on!
Lee University Soccer
During the fall, Coach Womack from Lee University invited us to
attend a Lee University Soccer game. We were very excited be-
cause we got to cheer for our friend Tom who we had met during
our PE classes at Lee; he is from England and has a cool accent.
After the game we all went out to eat at Las Margaritas.
UTC Football
We went to a UTC football game in November. Before the game,
we all went to eat at Southside Social; it is cool because you can
bowl or play pool, Jenga, or Skee Ball! Afterwards, we went to the
game with a lot of our Best Buddies from Lee University; Brady
said, “It was fun!” and Jessica said, “It was awesome.”
Trousdale Fitness Room
We have a great fitness
room at our school. If you
are here for personal train-
ing or want to work out
you can use some of our
machines like the treadmill,
recumbent bike, or ellipti-
cal. Mrs. Leah will also
help you use weights, yoga
balls, workout videos, or
strength training machines
that work out your legs,
arms, back, and stomach.

The staff and students went to the Ocoee Dam Deli restaurant to have lunch for Dining Out. It was delicious and the service was great!
After lunch, we all went to the Ocoee Whitewater Center. Ms. Jeanette took lots of pictures. It was very fun and exciting! Some of us climbed on the bridges and rocks.
Other students sat in rocking chairs on the shady porch and just relaxed. I would like to go back again very soon; it was very fun.

Knoxville Overnight
by Jordan K.& Amanda M.
Traveling Musical
When we arrived in Knoxville we went to one of the local nursing homes to do songs from the musical. We sang and
danced to songs from different musicals. The men all performed “16 Tons” with Adam singing and the ladies all per-
formed “I Hope You Dance” with Susan singing. After we performed we shook hands and introduced ourselves. Af-
terwards they gave us a pizza party.
UTK: Neyland Stadium Tour
We went to UTK to visit the VOLS football stadium. We walked around and took a tour of the stadium, the press box,
the VIP lounge, and the locker room. Inside the locker room we saw a lot of football players’ jerseys; there was even a
special locker that Sarah Johnson’s dad and 2 uncles had all used when they played for UTK, as well as one of their jer-
seys! While we were there Kelly Cox came to visit us because she is a student at UTK. Allen wore UTK overalls; they
were funny.
Calhoun’s on the River
That evening, for a special dinner, we went to eat at Calhoun’s on the River. The food was good and the waitress was
fast. When we were finished with dinner we took a group picture and then the staff
surprised us by taking us out for frozen yogurt! After we had dessert we all went back
to the hotel where the guys had guy night and some of the girls had girl night; it was a
lot of fun.
Gatlinburg: Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies
The next day we woke up and had breakfast at the hotel. Then we went to Ripley’s
Aquarium of the Smokies. We had a great time and got to see a lot of fish, octopi, and
we got to ride on a moving sidewalk under the shark tank! Afterwards the groups went
out to eat; some ate in the food court at the aquarium while other groups walked to
restaurants close by. After lunch we all headed home and most of us fell asleep!
