June 21, 22, and 23, 2012 Cost*: $150 per participant. Learn how to use free web 2.0 storytelling tools such as Bookr, Yodio, and Bubblr that engage students in real-world communication. Design a lesson that teaches your students how to use digital tools to tell a story in the target language. “Handouts” will be electronic and all work will be hands-on in a computer lab. Bring your own USB flash drive to save everything and/or bring your own wireless laptop. Technology applies to both Mac and PC. Identify the qualities of an effective leader, your own leadership strengths and your areas of growth. Gain hands-on experience with various protocols for leading text-based discussions, brainstorming, and solving problems. Learn how to plan and lead effective meetings with colleagues. Plan and present a presentation on an instructional strategy. Be prepared to have an impact beyond your classroom! Targeted Audience: All teachers and interns of World Languages and English as a Second Language Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Participants will make their own arrangements for lunch from 12:00 – 1:00.) # of Participants: Technology: Minimum 8, Maximum 20. Leadership: Minimum 5, Maximum 15. Applications will be processed immediately until the maximum for the course is reached. If the minimum for the course is not reached by June 1, the course will be canceled and payment will be returned.
