Several teens are volunteering to team up with young readers in the Summer Reading Program on Tuesday mornings from 10:30-11:30 am, and Tuesday afternoons from 2:00-3:00 pm. Children ages 3 1/2-8 may sign up to read with a teen weekly to earn reading credit towards incentives, and for fun, of course! Buddy sessions begin on July 3 and continue on Tuesdays through August 7. Registration begins on June 25 for one or more of the Tuesday sessions.

Children may wear their pajamas and bring their favor-ite stuffed animal.

Decorate a Pillow CaseOn Wednesday, July 11, at 2 pm, children are invited to the library to “dream big” and decorate a pillow case. Children ages 6-10 will be able to wear their pajamas as they decorate a pillow case for their bedroom! Reg-istration for this craft begins on June 25.

Children’s BubbleSophia Calabro will display her Pez Dispenser collection in the Children’s Room Bubble for the month of June. Ten year old Sophia enjoys collecting Pez Dispensers because, “they come in lots of different shapes and bright colors; they are so cool; and you can eat the candy too.” So don’t forget to visit the Children’s Room to view Sophia’s collection!

Reading Aloud in RI (REAL)Elementary and preschool children and their families may join in this event at the Providence Children’s Mu-seum on Friday, June 1 from 5-7:30 pm to hear local authors and illustrators read aloud from their own books. Stars include Kara LaReau, Peter Mandel, Linda Crotta Brennan, Kelly Murphy. Terry Golson, Alison Paul, Ammi-Joan Paquette, Jamie Michalak, Anika Denise, and Chris Denise. Book sale and signing included. Free admission to the Museum from 5-8 pm.
