The event that I chose to cover was the Mizuno Boston Volleyball Festival on Saturday February 27 and Sunday February 28. This two day tournament took place at the Boston Convention Center and had both junior girl and boy teams participating, as well as adult teams and college teams. However, I want-ed to get away from the chaos and craziness of the Boston Convention Center and explore the city that hosts this huge popular tournament. Oftentimes when one travels to big tournaments such as this one, he/she doesn’t have much time to actually explore the city as well as they would like since they are primari-ly there to play a certain sport. However, because I was fortunate enough to play the morning wave, I had plenty of time to explore the city with family and friends. My event, therefore, isn’t the actual volleyball part of the tournament, but rather the journey to and exploration of the city of Boston in the free time I had. Even though I was primarily there for volleyball, I still achieved my goal of experiencing what Boston has to offer. One specific event, for example the Mizuno Volleyball Tournament, can in fact lead to opportunities of exploring a new place or city and gaining new experiences. This is what I hoped to display with my project, along with the fun and enjoyment that comes from visiting a big city.
