In April 2011, JSSPS was founded on the idea that there is no limit to what a child can do if given the opportunity to excel. Inauguration

JSS Private School, the latest addit ion to the chain of

more than 320 educat ional inst itut ions across the world

by the Indian based JSS Mahavidyapeetha, was offi cially

inaugurated on the 1st of October, 2011, by H. E. Ali

Mehed Al Suwaidi, Deputy Minister f rom Ministry of

Educat ion, UAE, along with Sri. M. Veerappa Moily,

Honourable Minister of Corporate Affairs, India. H. E.

Sri. M. K. Lokesh, Ambassador of India to the UAE, Dr.

Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors

and Director General of the Knowledge and Human

Development Authority in Dubai (KHDA) and Major

General Nasser Abdul Razaq Al Razooqi were the Chief

Guests. H. H. Jagadguru Sri. Shivarat hri Deshikendra

Mahaswamiji, President JSSM VP, Mysore, graced the

occasion. There were eminent personalit ies f rom the UAE

and India to make the occassion a remarkable one in the

history of JSSM VP.

The Curriculum

JSS Private School follows the curriculum laid down

by the Central Board of Secondary Educat ion (CBSE).

The curriculum aims to promote crit ical and creative

thinking skills, ef fect ive communicat ion skills as well as

interpersonal and collaborat ive skills.

St rong emphasis is provided for creat ive and critical

thinking programmes, discussions, debates and research

with a Cont inuousand Comprehensive Evaluat ion Syst em.

The focus on internat ionally benchmarked curriculum is

a response to the challenges of teaching students in a

globalised world. In addit ion to knowledge, it is becoming

increasingly important for people to have the right

at t itude, a willingness to learn and an understanding on

how to collaborate in teams. The curriculum focuses on

innovat ive programmes like Perspect ives, Life Skills and

Social Empowerment through Work and Act ion (SEWA)

and Research.

In Life Skills, students develop crit ical thinking,

interpersonal skills, communicat ion skills and cooperat ion

skills.

Students gain global and local insights to issues through

discussions and debates in perspect ives. SEWA is

introduced to students f rom Grade I onwards that will

mandate community services every year with an NGO or

organisat ion of their choice, recording their experiences

in a journal.

FOUN DATION STAGE:(K .G 1 & K .G 2)

This is the stage when the children take their fi rst step

arranged to develop the spirit of healthy competit ion

among the students.

At JSS Private School we strongly believe that co-

curricular and extra curricular act ivit ies are as important

as academic act ivit ies. A round- the- year act ivity plan

ensures the over all physical and mental development of

the students.

HOUSE SYSTEM

Understanding the importance of working in teams

and team spirit are the primary object ives of the house

system. All the students in the school are divided into

four houses. A whole lot of act ivit ies have been designed

to develop key st rengths like leadership qualit ies,

competit ive spirit , team building and sportsmanship

spirit among others.

STUDENT COUNCIL

A student council system helps students to take

responsibility and interact with the school authorit ies on

behalf of the student community. The Council comprises

of a Head Boy, Head Girl, House Leaders, Deputy Leaders,

Prefects, Sport s Secret ary and a Cultural Secret ary. These

representat ives are selected among the students. They

meet periodically and it is their responsibilit y to provide

leadership for the groups placed under their charge.

SCHOOL CLUBS

To bring out the hidden talents of the students and to

provide them with an avenue to channelize their talents,

there are a host of clubs in the school. The act ive clubs

are Literary Club, Science Club, Civic Club, Mathematics

Club, Fine Arts Club, Library Club, Nature Club, Adventure

Club and Sport s Club. These clubs are act ive throughout

the academic year and aid in inculcat ing key values.

JELP is an integral part of the school curriculum. It

comprises of two sessions, one of prep and the other of

club or an act ivity. It is compulsory for all students f rom
