JGU: O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is a non-profit global university in Sonipat, Haryana. Established in 2009 by the Haryana Private Universities Act (Second Amendment Act, 2009) and named after Mr. O. P. Jindal, JGU is a philanthropic initiative of Mr. Naveen Jindal who is its Founding Chancellor. The University consists of JSLH, the Jindal Global Law School, the Jindal School of Global Policy, the Jindal School of International Affairs and the Jindal Global Business School that offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs of study.

Highlights: The BA in the Liberal Arts & Humanities at JSLH has a unique inter-disciplinary curriculum and study abroad opportunity in the USA at Rollins College, Florida. Students can also do a three-year BA (Hons.) program and get the undergraduate degree from JSLH.

JSLH: Jindal School of Liberal Arts & Humanities (JSLH) is India’s first transnational humanities school in partnership with Rollins College, Florida, and is part of the O. P. Jindal Global University at Sonipat in Haryana. JSLH offers a vibrant undergraduate program in the liberal arts and humanities.

Why Liberal Arts? In a day and age of rapid global change where knowledge of societies, cultures and systems matter as much as technical expertise, a background in the liberal arts and humanities is essential for the intellectual formation of a citizen of the future.

Why JSLH? With a stress on interdisciplinary studies, JSLH offers a BA (Hons.) program where students get a wide and deep exposure to humanities and social science subjects. Students learn in classrooms where they absorb a vast range of materials in collaboration with peers and teachers. They learn through texts, images, visuals, films. Their performance is assessed through written tests, research papers, team and individual presentations. We aim to have students who will become well-rounded individuals with the latitude and temperament to make a mark in any passion they pursue.

The JSLH BA: Over the first two years of the BA, students train in the foundational aspects of the liberal arts and humanities

through core courses, electives at JLSH and select courses across the different

schools of the University. They do one-month internships between

every semester. In the final year of the BA they choose a major – one subject – as an area for concentrated study and they write a thesis. The thesis in the third year is a detailed work of substantial length

and depth over a subject specialism.

Rollins College, Florida: Students have the option of extending their education at JSLH to Rollins College, Florida. After meeting the course requirements of the first two years at JSLH, students can opt for studying for the next two years at Rollins College. (For more details please see the Rollins College, Florida, brochure.)

Internships: Summer and winter internships are an essential component of the BA (Hons.) program and help students apply what they learn in class. Our students have already interned at a Bollywood production company, a theatre troupe, NGOs, think-tanks and research centres.
