1 Job Title: Facilities Technician (FT) Position summary: Maintains and repairs all buildings. Aids all areas to improve physical work environment throughout Camillus House Facilities. Work Schedule: Ability to work a flexible work schedule. Shifts vary (weekends & evenings, as needed). Role qualifications: Commitment to the mission of Camillus House Inc. in both knowledge and practice. Minimum of five (5) years diversified experience in maintenance. Considerable knowledge of trade tools and of occupational hazards, safety precautions, local codes, and regulations pertaining to the trades is essential. Computer Literacy: Proficient with word processing, email, and web browsers, able to enter information correctly into databases and spreadsheets. Education: High School diploma or its equivalent (GED). Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certification will be considered. Language: Proficiency in oral and written English. State of Florida Diver License Class E. Position responsibilities: Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repairs. Conducts troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance services of motors and pumps, electrical equipment, electrical building installations, appliances, and office equipment. Performs minor electrical and plumbing maintenance. Performs minor painting, carpentry, masonry, and drywall work. Reconfigures, installs, positions offices and storage areas. Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, parking lots, and other work areas. Performs preventive maintenance services and light troubleshooting of air conditioning equipment. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs and performs scheduled maintenance repairs. Reads and interprets work orders to perform required maintenance services and maintains work order log. Oversees the maintenance of all common grounds, to include: mowing, weeding, spraying and general clean-ups of open areas, roadways, fence lines, parking areas and display areas. Assists other maintenance staff as needed in painting, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, floor and ceiling tiles, or any other facility areas. Provides on and off-hour emergency response, including repairing equipment, stabilizing damages and requesting support personnel as needed. Works closely with and maintains good working relations with employees in all areas, as well as with contractors, vendors and clients. Performs regular inspections of facilities and maintains an inspection log. Keeps accurate mileage logs. Maintains the care and use of equipment, supplies, etc. and the appearance of facilities and keeps working areas safe and organized Attends and participates in staff meetings as required. Other Duties as assigned.

• Attends and participates in staff meetings as required.

• Other Duties as assigned.

Essential skills and experience:

• Culturally sensitive to the social, psychological and healthcare needs of homeless persons and/or

underserved populations.

• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills in order to meet deadlines and

handle multiple tasks.

• Demonstrates a high level of productivity while remaining calm and effective under pressure.

• A self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as, with multidisciplinary

teams and co-workers.

• Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.

• Excellent written, oral, and listening skills.

• Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to details, speed, accuracy and follow-through.

Nonessential skills and experience:

• Bilingual preferred (i.e. Spanish), additional languages a plus (i.e. Creole).

• A minimum of two (2) years of progressive development and fundraising experience.

• Demonstrated experience working effectively with individuals who are homeless and/or minority

and underserved populations preferred.

• Technical school education and/or accredited apprenticeship program is preferred.
