001. DEPUTY DIRECTOR GOVERNANCE & CO-ORDINATION KWT 3: ONE (1)

POST

The officer will be reporting to Director Governance & Coordination and will be

responsible for:-

a) Job description

(i) Overseeing implementation of policy and legislation in regard to collaboration,

conservation and management;

(ii) Mobilizing resources from the Government, development partners, private sector and

other stakeholders;

(iii) Coordinating the recovery and restoration of Water Towers lands, wetlands and

For appointment to this grade a candidate must:-

(i) Have a Master’s degree in any of the following fields:- Natural Resource Management,

Meteorology, Cartography, Hydrology, Ecology, Land Economics, Geo-Spatial survey,

Climate Science, GIS, Remote sensing, Environmental Science or any other related field

(ii) Be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields:- Natural Resource

Management, Meteorology, Cartography, Hydrology, Ecology, Land Economics, Geo-

Spatial survey, Climate Science, GIS, Remote sensing, Environmental Science or any

other related field

(iii) Have relevant computer applications skills;

(iv) Demonstrate communication and leadership skills;

(v) Have attended a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks;

002 DEPUTY DIRECTOR ECOSYSTEM ASSESSMENT, PLANNING & AUDIT,

KWT 3: ONE (1) POST

The Officer will report to the Director Ecosystem Assessment, Planning & Audit and will

be responsible for:-

a) Job Descriptions

(i) Coordinating the development and implementation of policy and legislation in regard to

Water Towers Ecosystem Assessment, Planning and Audit;

(ii) Mobilizing resources from the Government, development partners, private sector and

other stakeholders

(iii) Coordinating acquisition and management of Water Towers data and information to

support monitoring, planning and audit of the Water Towers;

(iv) Coordinating the development and access of innovative technologies for application in

the Water Towers assessment, planning and audit;

(ix) Coordinating capacity development of information management and dissemination on

the Water Towers;

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:-

(i) A Master’s degree in either Natural Resource Management, Ecology, Environmental

Planning, Environmental Economics, Environmental Science or any other relevant field;

(ii) A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields:- Natural Resource Management,

Ecology, Environmental Planning, Environmental Economics, Environmental Science or

any other relevant field;

(iii) Have at least eight years (8) relevant work experience, three (3) of which must be at a

senior management level;

(iv) Have demonstrated professional competence and good understanding of Natural

Resources sector;

(v) Demonstrate understanding of international treaties and conventions on natural

The Officer will be reporting to Deputy Director Governance and Coordination and will

be responsible for:-

(i) Coordination of security of the water towers for ecosystem governance and protection;

(ii) Resolving conflicts of various actors within the water towers under jurisdiction;

(iii) Coordinating gazettement of catchment lands;

(iv) Overseeing zonation, recovery and rehabilitation of critical water catchment areas and

biodiversity hotspots;

(v) Providing guidelines on protection and recovery of encroached catchment areas;

(vi) Participating in development of management standards for the water towers

(vii) Participate in preparation of quarterly and annual Directorates reports;

Water Towers Ecosystem Planning and Audit;

(ii) Managing the development and implementation of Water Towers ecosystem

management plans;

(iii) Managing acquisition of resource information for integrated planning and

management of the water towers;

(v) Ensuring mainstreaming of environmental assets in the National planning and budgeting

process;

(vi) Establishing framework for monitoring ecosystem health and resilience;

(vii) Implementing a monitoring program for ecosystem health, and resilience in the water

tower;

(viii) Establishing and implement management standards for ecosystem audit for the water

tower;

The Officer in this grade will be reporting to Deputy Director Partnerships, Business

Development and Community Livelihood and will be responsible for:-

a) Job descriptions

(i) Participate in formulating strategies and operational programs for private sector

development and PPP promotion in consultation with relevant government agencies.

(ii) Participate in the preparation and development of a Partnership Strategy in the Natural

Resources Sector

(iii) Liaise with Private sector Associations in the preparation of private sector assessments

for a Partnership Strategy, and identification of common work initiatives.

(iv) Participate in conducting policy dialogue with other agencies, development partners,

the private sector, and other stakeholders to identify and address challenges to scaling

up private sector development and PPPs in the Natural Resources Sector.

(v) Promote application of innovative PPP structures and approaches within the sector.

The Officer will be reporting to Deputy Director Partnerships, Business Development

and Community Livelihood and will be responsible for:-

(i) Participate in the development of a framework for public and private sector

involvement in funding (user pay principle (PES)) of conservation efforts in Water

towers, including carbon, water, and biodiversity.

(ii) Participate in initiatives for resource mobilization from international funding

(iii) Participate in development of business concepts that ensures economical use of

ecosystem products including setting up of endowment funds within Water towers

(iv) Assist in preparation of consolidated quarterly and annual status report from the region

on project, programmes and resources;

(v) Assist in development and promotion of innovative nature-based enterprises that

ensures sustainable natural resource utilization by communities living within designated

Water towers;

(vi) Assist in development of project business models in accordance with KWTA Group’s

design and specification standards;

Livelihood projects;

010 MANAGER CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS KWT 4 ONE (01) POST

a) Job Descriptions

The Manager, Corporate Communication will be the Head of the unit and will be

answerable to the Director General. The officer will be responsible for:-

(i) Providing counsel and oversight for the corporate Image, reputation & communication

management for the Agency ,

(ii) Development and implementation of the public relations and communication strategy

for the Agency,

(iii) Development and management of the Corporate brand identity for the Agency,

(iv) Development and management of the Agency’s media strategy (offline and online) to

enhance communication and awareness on the Organization’s activities and programs;

(v) Developing a comprehensive stakeholder relations strategy for employees, relevant

government departments, partner organisations and the general public,

(vi) Developing policies on public relations/communication for the Agency,

(vii) Rolling out programs for building and promoting the Agency’s internal and external

image;
